Folks is it irony if I die from a brain haemorrhage caused by the frustration I experience trying to use my health insurance's portal to submit a claim?
@stephencoyle I've long considered buying those to replace the terrible potentiometers in my X52 Pro flight stick. I believe the actual flight stick uses decent Hall effect sensors, but the rotating knobs on the throttle side are just terrible.
@lauren not that cat pics on the timeline are necessarily a bad thing... but are you aware this one is attached to pretty much every post you make that contains a link? Maybe a bug somewhere on your instance/setup?
@stephencoyle The technical reason, beyond "more cats are good", and this is an issue I've discussed here many times, is that I don't approve of the practice of Mastodon (or Twitter for that matter) including images from target links in posts not under the control of the sender. The only way to control this, given the lack of a user option (e.g., like Google+ had), is by including your own image instead. And so, various photos of Leela and occasionally others.
I will note, however, that I've had some people say the only reason they started following me at first here was due to the Leela photos, and so that has been an unexpected bonus. -L
