Everyone, I have an idea:

We should create a global holiday:

Backup Day. Everyone gets a day off to stay at home and make sure that all important files are backed up. At the end of the day you have a family dinner and share a scary data loss story to scare the kids

Edit: as some have pointed out, there already is a Backup Day! It is March 31st so I expect no less then a large celebration on @fosstodon next year. Happy Backup day everyone! :omya_aws:

#selfhosting and #nextcloud update:

My Google drive -> Nextcloud move has been going great so far. The desktop and mobile clients work very well, and the virtually unlimited storage space I have on my instance makes it awesome for syncing very large files (which I've been needing to do a lot lately)

For the folders where I needed 2 way sync in my mobile devices (neither mobile clients can do) I found that #syncthing works perfectly

I downloaded #thunderbird a wile ago and set up a few of my email accounts, however I just kep using #geary as I had previously done.

Now I think I might just straight up delete Geary to force myself to use thunderbird, I really want to start organizing my emails more and I need a feature rich email client for that.

I recently started to watch Samurai Jack, it was a cartoon that I was aware of when growing up, but had never actually watched a single episode.

I cannot stress enough how good it is. Most of the first episode doesn't have a single line of dialogue and is just a 10 min training montage. It is kinda insane that a children's cartoon starts off like this. Also, I loved that they included the Zulus as one of the civilizations he goes to train with
