@luciedigitalni And he defended Israel from criticism that it's targeting civilians by saying they are also killing their own soldiers and escaped hostages.

Which only confirms what's really true - they are so trigger happy that everyone gets it. And because the population is in an open-air prison, there's nowhere to hide.

    @timrichards I'm not sure what's the go in Aus but I got a discount on Disney+ for locking in for 12 months. Netflix is still a monthly proposition here in Germany.

    I imagine the reason German sandwich bread loaves have no crust ends (keine Endscheiben) is because the bakeries cut the slices from one neverending loaf where dough goes in one end and bread comes out the other.

    Funny also that the population needs to be informed they are permitted to toast normal bread.

    @passthejoe The article says Flex requires 4gb of RAM to boot but I've installed it on a system with 2gb. I wouldn't recommend it but just so anyone knows, it's possible.

    Oooohkay. There's a thing in Germany called Kinderturnen. It's like baby gymnastics, I suppose. Often like an obstacle course.

    Anyway, one boy is chasing another using a rope like a whip. The younger, smaller boy is crying out. I give chase and get the bigger boy to stop whipping him.

    He's like "it's my brother?" and I'm like "so? Doing that hurts!" then, their father tells me again that they're brothers, and it's up to him to deal with them, not me. I'm like, ok.

    I was over in Hamburg today and changed buses in a suburb with many Ukrainian refugees. In the pedestrian mall, there was (what appeared to be) a recruitment post for the Ukrainian military*. I don't know how I feel about that, but I do know the Americans have greatly harmed Ukraine and risked Europe by delaying materiel deliveries.

    *It was set up as cyclone fences covered with banners, a large Ukrainian flag above, a recruiter trying to engage passers by and a sign that said 18+ to enter the fenced area.

    After just under a week of owning and riding a Decathlon B'TWIN R500E longtail cargo e-bike:

    It's awesome. It's big, and heavy, and basically unrideable without battery assistance, but great fun. And very practical. The kids love riding together on the back. If I see it as a car substitute rather than a bike, I feel much less like it's cheating.

    The frame could indeed do with having a lower crossbar. It is sometimes challenging me to get my leg over (fnarr), but maybe I'll gain flexibility 💪

    Idea: The government covers unpaid wages and entitlements in the case of a business failure.

    A HECS-style debt is then created in the names of directors who pay it off with interest as extra taxation.

    @luciedigitalni I don't know myself. I just look at what has happened and wonder what additional disincentives there can be for directors to run a business to the point that they stole an entire month's labour from their employees. Maybe executive salaries being kept in trust until sufficient time passes that it's clear the firm met their obligations for a particular month?
