tbf, it seems like his relationship with animals was really hit or miss:

Diodorus Siculus recorded a story of Menes related by the priests of the crocodile god Sobek at Crocodilopolis, in which the pharaoh Menes, attacked by his own dogs while out hunting fled across Lake Moeris on the back of a crocodile and, in thanks, founded the city of Crocodilopolis.

Does One Line Fix Google? - A “Web” filter that presents what Google used to look like a decade ago | tedium.co (tedium.co)

Forget AI. Google just created a version of its search engine free of all the extra junk it has added over the past decade-plus. All you have to do is add “udm=14” to the search URL....

As an extra PS to anyone reading this, this is also possible on Chromium browsers, should you use that instead.

Edit: Just for those notorious for not reading the article ;)

Pt. er jeg helt skudt i Bad Liver and a Broken Heart fra deres Sleep With the Lights On album.

I would be very excited to explore the in-game locations. Hopefully feel really immersed in the universe! And as /u/AlolanYoda@mander.xyz mentioned, I hope it will be possible to solve conflicts through diplomacy. That has always been Star Trek’s biggest draw for me, that it isn’t just about combat and fighting.

Yeah, they look like they’re upside down, what the hell. lmao

Don’t know if you’re looking for desktop software specifically, but back in the day I used Medisafe on my phone, and that would definitely be my first port of call, if I had to start keeping track of that stuff again.

Do you have some kind of subconscious awareness of interests you already have or know you eventually will take deep dives into at some point in life?

I mean like awareness that, just under the surface, there are deep explorations waiting for the right time and place to emerge; things you’ve set aside or placed on the back burner but will tackle eventually/many you already have tackled....

I really loved Interview with the Vampire, so I was very excited for Mayfair Witches. But wow, those two are very different shows in tone, pacing and dialogue. It was very hard for me to get through Mayfair Witches, and I only finished it, hoping I’d end up liking it in the end. But I won’t be tuning back in for season 2, that’s for sure.

To be fair, I’ve never read the books. I have only ever read the Vampire Chronicles. So it may just be that I wouldn’t care for the books either.

However, in the spirit of this thread - I do want to check out the source material, Lives of the Mayfair Witches at some point. Could be that I’d enjoy it, even if I didn’t like the show.

I can’t find the source of this image with the exact same text, but this (Twitter link) looks to be the artist,

Oh, man, this really makes me want to re-read the entire series again.

I’ve recently gotten into audiobooks for the first time in my life. I wonder if there’s a quality production of His Dark Materials.

That sounds absolutely amazing. Especially this:

just the right kind of cold where my fingers don’t get numb, and my face gets and stays chilly the whole time.

You put that into words so well. I love that sensation. And the cool, fresh air, when you take a deep breath.

Really excited to see that too! $160 for a screen is quite a bit pricier, so I’m very happy that I invested in a thick panzerglass protector.

Wow, shapechange? That sounds interesting. I’d like to hear more about how it turned the tide of battle, if you are up for sharing :)

I love teaser trailers like this. Enough to get me curious and want to check it out, but not so revealing that it feels pointless to watch the movie, like so many regular trailers do today.

Thank you for sharing. I’m adding that to my list of video essay playlists.

And throwing these YouTube playlists in the ring:

Image search led me to Knowyourmeme, which luckily had the source listed for the artist’s Twitter.

There’s also a Wikipedia page.

As /u/ijhoo@lemmy.ml pointed out, you can do that in settings. And you can get to that setting easily by just hitting the “Customize…” at the bottom of the list in your screensot. The option will be towards the top.

Did anyone else dislike TOS in their youth but came around to it when they got older?

I was born in 1989, so I grew up with the TNG era and ENT, and I always dismissed TOS as a kid as the cheesy 60s original version that TNG remade and left in the dust. It wasn’t until high school that I actually sat down and watched TOS and fell in love with it. I even now wonder if Kirk is better than Picard, it’s a debate...

riot,
@riot@lemmy.world avatar

Well, this is making me reconsider if I should give TOS a chance one day. Maybe once I’ve caught up completely on everything else, I’ll sit down and give it a shot.

For me, working from home, it’s: Tired of looking at bad program, can’t wait to close it and look at good program. Although I think a lot of people working in-office feel that one too, lmao.

At this point, I just can’t do without Stacks, Tile view, Sessions and Work Spaces. The build-in Periodic Reload is also great, but by far, the most incredible feature is that you can customize your right-click menues however you like. I also have a lot of Command Chains set up in the Quick Command bar.

The amount of stuff that you can customize in Vivaldi has been without parallel for me.
