Anyone got an old 486 or pentium 1-3 pc they wanna get rid of? My kid is really interested in playing with old computers #vintagecomputing#retrocomputing
Desktop- I don't think this works - likely drive issue - drive never cleaned off, so would have to remove. I probably have an old empty small drive that can go with it.
Laptop- it probably works but cleared off, DOS installed. Pretty limited. I don't remember specs.
Old company systems given to me after depreciation ran out.
Haven't tried anything with either for 10 years or more.
Hey everyone! My friend needs help with their kids' dental work. Any support is greatly appreciated! Every bit helps. Check out their GoFundMe and share if you can! 🦷
@notsle Probably political, guessing. Remember the do not call law explicitly excluded political calls. It also, has a hole for companies you have an “relationship” with. I think that if you have an account with a bank that contracts a service from a vendor, that counts even if you never formally agreed.
Kind of like the holes in the HIPAA laws in that way.
I get a lot of different ones - via folks that drive by in their fancy cars.
I don't check often - but if I'm on the porch and traffic is heavy, such that a line of cars backs up (e.g. a train goes by as school lets out) --- I open wi-fi and see what pops up.
I’m on an energy saving kick.
So far this month between the hours of midnight and 8am we are averaging 1.2kWh per hour of use.
I can only account for a max of 400Wh/hr and even that is a high estimate.
No ac on. All computers shutdown.
The only thing running is about 200w of network gear, refrigerator and freezer. And some phone chargers.
@maleandroids I went with a Emporia Vue2 then flashed it with ESPHome. You got to do a bit of soldering and have a serial tty device. But wasn’t terrible.
Manager: Lets teach a non-developer office worker how to push code to git. "It's just clicking a few buttons. I've done it before. It's not that hard."
I just had to explain to our "technical" "Product Owner"
The difference between a Database Server and Database.
Now maybe im being to picky here. but shouldn't someone in charge of a product that is built around databases understand the basic functionality of Database Servers?
