Update: Amidst all the political turmoil, it appears that the demand to get justice for Ashwini and Aneesh is dying down.

The state government has not yet made any announcement for even a pittance of a compensation for Ashwini and Aneesh despite it being a very clear failure of the local traffic police and other authorities for letting an unregistered car with an unlicensed driver be on the roads for several months, among other lapses in the investigation afterwards.

Let's not get lost in the various popcorn headlines that this case is being reduced to, our goal is very clear and it is to get justice for Ashwini and Aneesh. We will not back down from this.

I have spoken with Ashwini's father last night, they are currently traveling, once they are back, I will plan to go to Jabalpur, meet both the families, and then figure out how to take this forward.

We might end up needing another protest for this. I'll keep you guys updated.

This is all so sad. The blame here is not just on the mother, but on the legal system that denies the father equal rights.

I hope the Supreme court takes cognizance of this crime and hangs its head in shame. Or maybe it can just issue a contempt notice to me.

The presence of Indians, from India, in Fediverse is insignificant as on today. Most of us are happy with X and social media tools from Meta. Even the number of posts from existing users, in India, is very low though many of them seem to be active in the above mentioned social media sites.

What can be done to improve the situation? There are no carrots here.

@davidho Sadly this trend is being followed in India also now. We used to sell mostly small cars couple of years back. But this year Indians bought more SUV's than small cars. Country is getting richer, but at what cost.
