Texas is what happens when conservatives have unchecked power to govern. People governing on complex issues like climate science based on nothing but “gut instincts”

Could have made a meme instead of drawing this up, looking forward to seeing the artist mature some more and bring more distinctive style

FOSS works with the quoted text for the same reason piracy is not technically stealing. How do you make the quoted text work with physical goods or services? How do you allocate the work of a cosmetic surgeon, or distribute nail polish?

Edit to give examples that are more cis male oriented: how do you distribute viagra in an equitable manner? Basically I am asking where do non-utilitarian services or Veblen goods fit into this paradigm. Technically we don’t need computers to survive and mate, so that mitigates the need for FOSS

a basic floor to ensure no one lives in inhuman conditions

I am not an expert on political or economic theory, but I think the reason we don’t have consensus on the above is a philosophical issue. A confounding factor is that some people often confuse their greed-induced cognitive distortions as well-reasoned justification for whatever they do. But besides all that, it seems countries with market socialism are faring quite well till now, and I think are probably a good model for other economies.

Would be excellent for Tesla if Musk leaves. They might finally make cars that have standards and quality to existing luxury brands like Mercedes, BMW etc

Related to development of semiconductor devices, especially transistors. The original computers used punched holes. In some way it’s an extension of that same idea

Edit: for the curious, some accessible intros

Can they sink the IA name and just set up as another entity? I mean, declare bankruptcy etc. What happens to the archived data in this scenario? I am not a lawyer so I have no idea

Edit perhaps they can setup up an entity, sell the data to it, and bankrupt IA?

If it’s using different AI models and allowing anonymity, I am not sure what’s the issue? Do you also object to using a calculator?

You can train models of all kinds without disclosing anything personal about a user. Also see differential privacy

I am not sure what method DDG is using for their model updates, I think it’s only fair if journalists follow up with them for clarification. Local LLMs, ones you can download to your machine for use, would circumvent privacy concerns if you’re not updating the weights in some way

Edit to clarify I meant updating the weights using online learning, but it’s still possible to update weights using pre trained weights you can download

Sure but would she still want him if he didn’t have the big creepy castle?
