I booked an #ElectricVehicle to use on holiday in Spain. Not for environmental reasons - that would be pretty hollow since we're flying there - but because it was the cheapest option for a reasonable sized car. I doubt we'll be doing many mile..., er kilometers but anyone know how public charging in Catalonia compares to the UK?

After much faffing with APIs in various states of disrepair I have settled on an #ElectricVehicle charging automation that polls the battery level every 15 minutes and only needs to adjust one parameter: it either sets the EV charger to 100% grid or 100% solar.

I had a dream Elon Musk invented a way to beam people across long distances. This meant destroying your original body and constructing a new one at the destination. The process started by walking through what looks like a Bond villain's lair to a huge pool where you got immersed in freezing water. Oompah loompahs guided you along the way. It gets vague after that, but Elon was pretty keen it worked.

Ok I thought I switched off my work computer before Christmas but I just checked it and some app prevented shutdown. Surely that problem could have been solved by 2024? (e.g. APIs should exist for well behaved apps to save and restore their state, and we could make the OS tell poorly behaved apps to eff off)

Last night I relearned one of my own metal #guitar solos recorded in 1993 when I was 22. I played pretty fast but was never like your modern shredders (still don't really like that style, tbh). Hard to capture the raw energy of it but feels natural to drop a few notes and play with a bit more expression now. It's a metal solo with reading glasses on.

So I just about nailed Kirk Hammett's Seek & Destroy #guitar solo. Couple of good nights sleep and a few more practices and I think it'll be locked in muscle memory. Then I look at my Songsterr page and I'm playing the solo section at 75% speed 😫

We have microchip cat feeders but the non-cat has worked out he can watch the cats eating then poke his nose in just as the cover is closing to block it and gobble the remaining catfood. He's getting a bit chubby as a result. Any tips on keeping your non-cat out of the cat food? #DogsOfMastodon
