@jon @nordkommission Nein, das hatte mir mal wer erklaert, wo das verantwortet hat : Fuer E-Bikes gelten in der EU wohl viel strengere Brandschutzstandards, als fuer E-Roller. Das sei angeblich der Unterschied, warum letztere in Zuegen und generell OePNV tendentiell haeufiger verboten werden.

@jon Well, to be fair, when I asked the SNCF employees in guichet Strasbourg about the reason for exactly the same question, they honestly replied that the migration of the ticketing system was the reason for it and it will become possible again once they migrate to the new system, and also admitted that it was their fault that they messed up the migration. But well, that does not make it that much better.

Can you confirm what the employee at :pride_sncf: SNCF guichet just told me, @gregory or @jon ? SNCF vending machines seemingly can no longer sell InterRail reservations for TGV and Intercités. Guichet still can. Though they said this will not be permanently buy only during the migration period to another booking system.

Anyway, despite only 15 minutes in Strasbourg and the wasted time at the vending machine they could sell me my reservation in time at the counter.

@jon Non, j'etais proposee d'acheter le billet sur la site internet InterRail. Apres que j'ai demmandee pourquoi sur InterRail mais pas en gare yil n'avait aucune reponse - bien que j'avais expliquee que ca me coute plus cher.

Night time engineering works mean buses replace trains. But they can’t organise a bus the whole way - it’s a French bus to Kehl and a German bus for the rest

@jon Most stupid : One could instead also just accept the DB/SNCF tickts on the tram between Kehl and Strasbourg for the period of the construction work. But no, not with SNCF.

Baut Niederflurzuege ! Die Schweizer haben sogar Fahrzeuge, mit mehreren Tueren im Wagon auf verschiedenen Hoehen, damit man an verschiedenen Bahnsteighoehen barrierearm aussteigen kann ! Das darf nicht optional sein, dass ist ein Muss fuer Alle !

I figured out the pricing of :deutschlandtarif: Deutschlandtarif is more than 3 times the traffic association fare in the train I booked in the afternoon.

Btw. the funny paper tickets with hand written notes are now also well prepared with a good old DB passenger rights form. DB will have fun with this hand-written notice in French 😅.

I find it surprising how you don't even need cross-border ticketing to get fare calculation impossible but a simple traffic association border is already fully sufficient.

A secure paper ticket. Normal fare Europe by DB. Three adults, three BC 100. From Oermingen to Saarbrucken Hbf. There's a hand written not in French next to an SNCF stamp telling that the train No 86386 ended in Sarreguemines due to lack of compatible rolling stock.

I rarely had a more complicated ticket check :

First, the conductor saw all our D-Ticket cards and was terrified we all only had D-Ticket and nothing but.

Then they saw lots of secure paper. Sadly we had a cursed combination of group tickets for Bas-Rhin, joint single tickets for Moselle and several BahnCard discounts for the German border crossing applied.

After looking for five minutes who of us was on which ticket, they finally decided seeing 13 tickets was enough.

I'd like to be in Wörth at noon tomorrow. I'd like to be in Sarrebruck tomorrow around 5 p.m. Noon is neither early, nor is 5 p.m. late. That's why I will have no issues being there and getting there by :alleo: DB and SNCF cooperation.

Sadly I'd also still like to go to Strasbourg for some administrative stuff as well as groceries. Problem : Only option getting me to Strasbourg and back to Lauterbourg before the departure of the noon Regionalbahn TER is at 6.30 a.m. with arrival in Strasbouin at 7.30 a.m. - way too early for any of the stores I need to visit to be open.

The way back from Sarrebruck to Lauterbourg will also be via Strasbourg. Sadly it will be a short connection to the 7.50 p.m. TER back to Lauterbourg - the last one of the day. Last one. On a Saturday. At 7.XX p.m. - leaving no time to still visiting the places I'd need to go to.

This is was Strasbourg calls Réseau Express Métropolitain Européen - European metropolis fast-rail network. An S-Bahn network hence. And yes, Line 09 and 10 are considered as part of this network, one might not believe this. This metropolitan fast-rail network still doesn't give me a chance to go the the metropole at day time unless I plan the entire day for it.

Yes, French schedules suck. Especially when it's about the cross-border or border station traffic. This sucks.

The between and is to end this summer, after 96 years. railways () wanted service to continue, but their partner () no longer seem interested. Hard to believe that the is interested in more long distance, , when stuff like this is allowed to happen

@Peternimmo I guess it's not a question of interest but of vehicle approval. Starting from August, they operate the new class 408 Velaro MS vehicles on the Amsterdam and Brussels services - they simply lack approval for Switzerland - even for the small border traffic to Basel SBB.

But yes, sad they didn't prepare for this during the vehicle order. It's definitely a great service and it's already sad it only runs once a day.
