lepinkainen,

“At least”. Most iPhones have been updated for 7 years or more

lepinkainen,

Apple Music pays multiple times more to artists than Spotify.

Tidal pays multiple times more than Apple.

You can influence things with your wallet.

lepinkainen,

Soulseek is still a thing.

lepinkainen,

IIRC labels own bits of Spotify, so they get their money that way. They don’t care if their music on the app actually makes a profit.

lepinkainen,

Same happens with Safari. The page loads in a weird funky way, video sorta first and then comments and suggestions many seconds later.

On Chrome on the exact same computer it’s instant.

They’re doing it on purpose.

lepinkainen,

The difference between science and fucking around is writing it down - Adam Savage

lepinkainen,

They need to know the limits to methodically step over each one

lepinkainen,

Books are fine. You just need to find authors who don’t spend two pages describing someone’s clothes, as you won’t remember anything past “pretty tall and dark haired”

lepinkainen,

I don’t want the first thing I do at the office be a shower.

E-bikes let me control the amount of sweat, while still giving me a cardio workout.

lepinkainen,

Shower before I leave where? I arrive at the office covered in sweat. My clothes completely soaked.

Then I need to shower, change and still haven’t clocked in.

lepinkainen,

I’ve competed at a country level in martial arts. I’m not unfit.

It’s a genetic thing, I sweat like crazy and it takes a long time for me to cool down after I get a good sweat going. Even if I shower, I still keep sweating for a good 30 minutes.

lepinkainen,

The “servers” are actually called “guilds” in the API.

Servers are just a marketing term

lepinkainen,

My VW Passat took the whole two hours it took me to drive to my parents house. Had to sit in their drive for 15 minutes for it to complete.

It was just a maps update from DVD.

lepinkainen,

And the images are tied to an Apple ID.

So somehow the fully factory reset iPad accidentally logged in to the old Apple ID and merged deleted photos to the new Apple ID

lepinkainen,

Someone should try wearing a “Trump 2024” mask and see what happens

lepinkainen,

I think you’re one of the people who wanted a cyberpunk GTA game and didn’t get it.

The story is fucking amazing, some of the side quests will stay with you for a long time.

The combat and driving are fine, I endure both to get forward in the story.

After announcing increased prices, Spotify to Pay Songwriters About $150 Million Less Next Year (www.billboard.com)

When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...

No matter what you think about Apple, Apple Music pays multiple times more than Spotify

And Tidal pays multiples more than Apple.

It’s up to you if you want to support artists or not.

lepinkainen,

I have knowledge on mobile gaming, they do this too.

It doesn’t pay to manage some shitty off brand Android phone’s compatibility issues when your whole country spends less in a month than a half dozen midwestern moms in an evening on the game.

lepinkainen,

Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia too. Not exactly developing countries.

lepinkainen,

You can’t “binge” a live service game where the plot changes in real time.

lepinkainen,

Yes, you still shoot bugs and robots.

But the planets that are available- and by extension the missions - change all the time. You can’t just mainline the game for 150 hours in a week and experience all of it.

Most of the people complaining about the lack of variance in gameplay are the ones playing 12 hours a day constantly.

lepinkainen,

Enabling TCS on planets and having to disable them on a destroyed version of the map a month later because the TCS was actually mutating the bugs to become more powerful?

lepinkainen,
lepinkainen,

Tell me you don’t understand anything about software without telling me…

Bungie can do that because they have a shit ton of resources. Arrowhead is 100 people total.
