@neurovagrant I am in the same routine-revising situation these days. The problem-solving part of creating a new routine or schedule is fun and intriguing for me, but the actual implementation part is ... not so great.
I gambled on a break in the rain for this morning's run ... and lost. It went from zero to raining buckets in 5 seconds. A real test for the new Janji jacket, which did the job! A little wet at the top of the zipper; otherwise dry. #running
@arratoon Starting slowly is key. It takes your body (and your brain!) time to adjust.
And I have a biking jacket that's not so waterproof, but it is all-over reflective, so it's great on dry dark mornings. All hail the crossover jacket.
@arratoon I do not. I had a pair years ago and didn't like them; they were stiff and felt weird to me. So I keep my rainy runs short and take my wet gear off as soon as I get home. I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest, so my winter shoes are basically trash by late spring.
I leave for a couple months of respite at the end of the week (huzzah, and phew!) BUT am redlining my pacing trying to get ready.
Ya'll can help me by tooting yer peaceful moments on the #sitTogether tag and @ me - to hopefully draw me into sit the fuck down and just be for 5mins, or to at least build a lovely stream of soothing toots to scroll through when I do sit down.
This is the soul equivalent of putting on a sweater 'cause mom is cold. I need ya'll to take a breath to remind me to. 💖
@vlrny Sitting quietly, drinking coffee, and reading posts wishing us all a happy new year while the dog uses my leg as a pillow. If you can't #SitTogether, at least you know my dog is comfortable. 😁
If you're looking for some grown up entertainment that is life affirming without being full of treacly seasonal fake happiness, you could do worse than Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. Season 1 was excellent, Season 2 was slower to get going but once it took off, it was brilliant!
The acting is so, so good, and the writing is witty and sharp. Bonus superstars like Shirley Maclaine as well, and lots of found family and poignancy mixed in with a real murderous puzzle :) #JoinIn
oh hey my games are on deep discount on itch.io, and we still need all the financial help we can get in order to stay housed and fed until we can get kitsune tails out next year so buying them would be a huge help: https://eniko.itch.io/
@eniko I was just talking to friends last night about needing new games for the holiday break, and here you are with games! Easiest decision I'll make all day.
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network has updated their COVID-19 resources. Lots of info on shots, masks, long Covid, etc., and in many forms - video, plain-language text, easy reads, etc.
@JeremyMallin@actuallyautistic Joke's on them! Weather is a special interest, so we're gonna do a deep dive on fronts, inversions, barometric pressure, and anything else that might be even a tiny bit relevant.
@cyprianbeaze@funbreaker In the late 1990s, way before I started using fountain pens, I did have checks that were intended to pay bills stolen from my mailbox. They washed the cheap ballpoint ink off and rewrote them to withdraw cash.
I can't imagine this is a lucrative crime in 2023.
People of the #FountainPen! There are still some deals to be had this weekend, I have a little spare cash, it's my birthday month, and I'm celebrating a milestone in my master's degree. Which pen says "Nice job!" without making me broke?
(I have a couple of Lamy Safaris, a Benu, a retractable Pilot, and a Conklin I barely use.)
