Not sure what to make of this - I only have standard tracking protection on, and this has only cropped up in recent days. Not shared as drama, more as a perplexing technical development.

I still do not believe that the US government has a freezer full of alien body parts, but the question of what they really do have is interesting

Everyone is talking about how chatGPT etc help students cheat but I haven't heard the possibility raised that it might help teachers cheat. Thinking back to my academic days, if I knew I could write a prompt and point an LLM at a directory full of essays and have it generate grades, comments, and a grades.csv, that would have been... tempting?

I've recently installed the Mullvad browser and it not only works well but seems snappier than vanilla Firefox. I can't rule out that that is down to an absence of extensions, but I would be curious to know if it is partly due to it natively blocking a bunch of crufty scripts.

The only healthy assumption to make is that any information you transmit to a third party will become public at some point, possibly in a courtroom

New from Megan Squire and me at Hatewatch - someone funneled a lot of Ethereum to white nationalist and anti-government extremists in 2021 and 2022, and took the trouble to disguise their identity with a now sanctioned crypto mixer.

Ammon Bundy alone got ETH worth $93,000
