How would you diagnose this website's #seo

Chart shows impressions from Search Console data.

For best part of a year, Google did not like this site.

A year later it's recovering.

What did I change?

Absolutely. Nothing.

Literally, not one thing.

Was the content less "helpful" before? But is "helpful" now? When it's the same content...?

Not sure if this is good etiquette but I have an #SEO question relating to other platforms:

Is there any way to stop a reposted piece on LinkedIn grabbing the rank away from the original blog?

LinkedIn doesn’t let me set rel=canonical in the head. I want the blog to stay primary. (You can see that the direct link on the blog doesn’t rank at all; the results from DoTheWords.com are just other pages that happen to mention the original post.)

Any tips gratefully received.

The fact that AI tools like ChatGPT et al., generate low unsatisfactory content is a testimony that most of the web content is of low quality. Of course, it depends on algorithms, but radically depends on input too.

News ≠ Blog and Blog ≠ News

On many sites, I notice that "News" is used as the anchor text for links leading to main blog page. This is misleading. The anchor text for blogs should be "Blog", not "News".
