Tech geek and Researcher, Privacy, Security, 0x0

Works in IT, security and privacy researcher. Long time DNS geek, I was an AD and client security SME, now I play with clouds. phones are interesting,
every OS has good and bad.

privacy is an illusion of aspect, where you can only control so much of the aspect. but, the more you control of your aspect, the more you control that illusion.

breaking things are fun....

Question for the tech geeks, nerds and privacy guru's:

I asked this a few years ago. I got a few answers, but it was not completely satisfactory. Which #DNS provider do you advise, with the following requirements;

a. ad-blocking
b. not hosted or administered from the US or such
c. supports DNS-over-TLS (aka Private DNS in Android)
d. non-profit preferred
e. open-source preferred

I now use Adguard (hosted/admin in Cyprus afaik), but because it's a company I don't trust it for 100%. You also have Cloud 9 (hosted/admin in Switzerland), but they have no ad-blocking. Another option is NextDNS, but they are from the US. I refuse to use Cloudflare or Google.

ghost0x0,

@joenepraat
this is a struggle, i use adgaurd dns on phones and quad9 on other devices.

whats interesting about this, is that its basically a tried and true attack of tricking the user.

throw a popup saying click me to update.. and user will click on it.

Funny, we are taking care of an 11y old. He’s has some issues which is why we are now taking care of him.

Issues or not kid is smart, yesterday was explaining credential hygiene, and other forms of hygiene. Today breaking down ecosystems. What happens when he gets older? Python? Get him in Ctf?

I don’t think anyone actually sat down and talked to him, and not at him. Kinda sad but…..

YourAnonRiots, to threads Japanese

Though #Threads is less than 2 weeks old, it's already overrun with hate and disinformation. And as

@freepress

and 23 other groups note in a letter to Meta, the new platform is at risk of becoming as toxic as Twitter.

ghost0x0,

@YourAnonRiots

It will be a challenge to keep the stupid down. Maybe meta can do a better job then twitter.

@mullvadnet got a couple of people recommending I check your services out. This is what I'm doing now. Previously (and still am) I used Surfshark, but as time goes by, I'm likely opting to head for a different service. "Freedom of the Press Foundation" has a very short list of what they consider excellent privacy/security-focused VPNs. #vpn #security #privacy #cybersecurity

Meta has launched its new social media platform, Threads. For now, it's only been released in hundreds of countries outside the EU, as the EU's privacy regulations are too strict for Meta's new Twitter rival.

They said it’s coming to the eu, they just need the infrastructure to support the laws. Over the next months and year threads infrastructure will change a lot.

Read an article about home defense, that said lock your dogs in the bathroom. And take up a firing posture with your handgun.

Most of the article was decent , but sorry if someone is kicking open my door my 90lbs pit stays with me and we fight as a team.

Better advice move everyone to back room with dogs and call 911 as team and fight as team. Most bad actors or criminals really dont want to mess with large dogs. And if the owner is fight them at the same time it’s a problem for them.
