A Windows Movie Maker video of gameplay of a basic platformer using Super Mario Bros. assets. Mario is very tall/lanky with fluid animations for whatever reason, there's very weird music playing in the background, and there are subtitles alongside stock transitions saying "Super Mario Bros." and "The Classic Hit is now Back". At the end, the music stops and there's a static image of a Wii bundled with Mario Kart Wii captioned "For Nintendo".

You can’t convince me that casual games are all that casual.

Take Wonderputt Forever. It looks chill and relaxing. The graphics and sound almost seem Zen-like.

But, my god, is this game hard. Nailing the geometry and physics ain’t for the faint of heart. This makes your local mini-golf in your local town look completely pedestrian.

The only people who ever get under par on all the courses are gluttons for punishment who pour hours upon hours on understanding the nuances of each pixel.

Believe me, on the first play through, you’ll be hitting lots of bogies. At times, you’ll want to tear out your hair in frustration. I suspect the reason this game has that calming music is to talk you down from the proverbial ledge.

This isn’t a complete. Sometimes you just got to get good.

Apparently, this is developer Damp Gnat’s first PC game. Prior to this, they just made mobile games. This explains why Wonderputt Forever looks, well, like a mobile game.

I’m happy to say, though, that this game is verified for the Steam Deck and works perfectly. It looks great on the Steam Deck’s screen.
