So tomorrow is going to suck I need upgrade my PfSense firewall and apparently there is a bug that requires a reinstall to get it fixed as the partition was too small. Then I can get around to setting up @protonprivacy and @bitwarden but I am keeping @keepassxc for the TOTP MFA, because I don’t want to store those in the same password manager. Also rotating all passwords and setting up new Yubikeys then migrating from Ledger to Trezor

I was sent this mouse made of Magnesium to test out a bit from a vendor for TikTok. Bluetooth, and wireless with a dongle but also can work as a wired mouse. It has up to 4KHz polling with the adapter, and up to 26,000 DPI. I like the design (this is a battle worn design), added the grip stickers it came with, which look nice and add a nice texture. There is lighting built in. It’s very light and honestly my only complaint so far, lack of side scrolling.

I think since @protonprivacy is dragging their feet on releasing a Linux offline application for Proton Pass, I'll just pull the trigger on going to Bitwarden Premium. Yes I know there are self hosted options and yada yada yada. But I need something reliable, I can secure with my @yubico Yubikeys and have reliable access wherever I am, and still have offline capability. I can't believe they announce it in February with only a Windows App, and still drag their feet on Mac and Linux.

#Infosec #Twitter is dead, why do people still insist on being on that platform? It's lost its relevance, and all the best people in Infosec have moved here to #Mastodon or another #Fediverse app.

I feel like most of those still on Twitter are more worried about appearances and keeping their follower numbers than keeping and growing a great community.

That's just my $0.02

I'm looking at shoes for #DEFCON and #BsidesLV any ones people can recommend at REI? I love my 511 boots, but after a few days my feet really hurt and took about a week to recover.

Not sure if I want to use the running shoes I bought as I use them only when I workout, but I was planning to bring them anyway for when I work out.

I think after #DEFCON I will invest more time to enhance my #Mastodon alerter for when I am live on #Twitch, and see about how I can do the same with my @matrix server.

I do have to spin up my AWS environment for my cloud labs, and setup Twingate connectors for Zero Trust Network Access. Once I get the restreamer setup, I will work on adding Simulcast to #YouTube and #Owncast or #Peertube (thanks to @DavBot hosting me), but will require reworking my OBS scenes to be compliant with rules.

I am so anxious to get mine and set up before #DEFCON but in the mean time I reinstalled @QubesOS on #twitch last night and I am loving the GUI.

I'll try and setup my @mullvadnet on @QubesOS tonight on #Twitch. I will be on #Tiktok as well, but I don't have a stream key yet so I can't properly simulcast. But I will be on Tiktok as well. I will also see about setting dark mode on all of my things. Probably do the #Monero wallet later this week

I am loving the new GUI in the latest QubesOS, I just wish they made it easier to set dark mode everywhere, or at least out of the box have an option to set as default. #Cybersecurity #Infosec

This summer I am hoping to sit down after #DEFCON and spin up my RTMP restreamer probably using AWS so I can get around to finding someplace to setup an Owncast account, not sure if I want to run my own server as that's a lot of work.

I plan to simulcast to Owncast, Twitch, Youtube, and Tiktok at the same time. And then merge all the chats on the same screen on my Linux box so I can see all of the chat on one screen.

Those two months of taking a break from content creation on tiktok and Twitch kind of hurt my savings for my projects as I have a separate bank account for all this.

I would really appreciate new Twitch and Tiktok subscribers and I have some items for review that I purchased that I will give honest reviews to, but also tips/donations are always appreciated

I don’t know why there are accounts linking to twitter/X posts on Mastodon. That shit will turn people off to your content around here. Most of us left that. It’s fine if you want to repost content on both platforms but stop linking to Twitter on mastodon. Learn that we are different and separate communities and how we interact.

Not that I am a snob for follower counts, but I find it funny when I discuss Mastodon and the fediverse on my tiktok I get comments from people hating on Mastodon telling me I am on a platform with nobody there, when my own Mastodon has more followers than their own tiktok does.

I wish there was a sign I could jokingly put that said, "you must at least have 500 followers on Twitter and Tiktok to shit talk about Mastodon"

I'm happier here, and more of the InfoSec community is here :D

The thing that annoys me about Linus Tech Tips is while he was great when I was a kid just starting my IT and Cybersecurity journey, he didn't seem to really grow his knowledge much beyond the NCIX days. Most of his videos are clickbait subjects, and after a year or two in IT and especially cybersecurity you just outgrow his content. Whereas Level1Techs, Crosstalk Solutions, Lawrence Networks, Network Chuck, and etc. Keep growing their own knowledge and sharing it with the rest of us.

While I find it admirable people are standing up for injustice for Palestinians, it's really starting to feel like people are becoming silent on all the other injustices going on in the world.

Too many activists have dropped all other activism for this one injustice, and that in and of itself is a great injustice.

Sadly I notice this pattern repeat itself with Palestinians that leads to people around the world becoming desensitized which ironically allows the injustice to continue.

Well it looks like the memory is in fact bad on my Windows box I use for OBS and streaming. I will run to mIcrocenter tomorrow and pick up new RAM which will also be an upgrade. They have a 64GB Crucial kit for like 50% off and only $20 more than the 32GB kit, not that I need 64GB but it will be more breathing room for multitasking when streaming.

So I will hopefully stream tomorrow afternoon reinstalling Qubes OS on the Purism Librem 14.

I'm updating the BIOS on the stream box to see if that helps with the recent instability issues in the box before I stream. If this doesn't work I guess I have to go to Microcenter to get new RAM as that's the only thing that makes sense with the random reboots with Windows 10 Enterprise lately as it's been rock solid since I built it.

Fuck Godaddy, I am trying to transfer a client's domain from Godaddy to Cloudflare and it kept failing and for some reason now it renewed for another year, but says it won't be allowed to transfer until July 22? WTF!? I just unlocked it and transferred it. One of two domains failed.

One of the reasons I do plan to move away from @mastohost isn't because I dislike the service, it's more so because there are some tweaks and customizations I am not allowed to do as they keep it as close to stock as possible.

Masto.host is a great service provider especially for those who don't want to be as hands on, but if you're a more advanced user such as myself it can be a bit limiting. I would like to add more fields to my bio, as well as increase the text limits.

On today's fediverse news, people learn why you should run your own instances if you are worried about server moderation.

Yes as some will know I currently am hosted through @mastohost but if you look at their terms and conditions, they completely align with my own rules I have on this servers for those who share this server with me. In fact I just reviewed their terms of service and added several rules I agree with as well just a few minutes ago.

I'm thinking of possibly moving my server from @mastohost to an AWS EKS, it could be a fun project for me to learn about EKS and build some more skills for my career. Because I think a scalable infrastructure is the better approach.

There is a Bitnami package I have found that I can look into.
