Got a little rig for recording short interviews at conferences with stuff I already had lying around

Not sure how well the short shotgun mic will work though. Thinking of picking up one of those wireless lav mics that are all the rage now. Any recommendations? (preferably cheap)

@marcoarment I literally just pulled the trigger on a little smaller (and cheaper) pair of lavs than DJIs. I think this’ll be much more convenient than the shotgun and, like you said, give me proximity which is ultimately what really matters anyway

Update: got the Lark M2 wireless lav set from Hollyland

Initial testing sounds good! I think these’ll be really handy and much more convenient than the silly shotgun setup I had, haha

@alexcox I believe this was not with the noise cancelling on, but honestly I’m not even 100%, haha. Was a very quick test.

For this application for me convience will take priority over sound quality. I just want voices to be totally legible in a loud environment in a setup that’s quick and easy to spin up on the fly

Quick impressions: they’re chunky enough that I feel kinda self-conscious in them, but I’m not sure they’re so chunky that they actually stand out that much

They’re surprisingly great for listening to music/podcasts around the house

Camera is fun. Excited to try them on a trip
