Dreadful news about that French chef who got depressed, just gave up, and died. Apparently he lost the huile d'olive.

Was there ever a proposal to add the ability to "light dismiss" an open <details> element with esc (like HTML popover & <dialog>) or did I make it up in one of my perviest dreams?

At the weekend I took the kids to the zoo. There were no pandas. No lions. No tigers. No giraffes. No elephants. No crocodiles. Just a tiny little dog in a cage. It was a Shih Tzu.

It's not just computers that are crap rubbish technology. Look at this daft toaster from Tesco that is too small too accommodate standard Tesco own brand bread. I might stick a React sticker on it.

Some toast. Except 25% of it, which is disappointingly slightly warmed but still white bread.

My origin bite length story:

My dad gave me a ZX BASIC listing for Star Wars, in 1988 (I think?). I spent the day coding. The shit did not work. So began my devlife.

How I tricked iOS into giving me EU DMA features https://adamdemasi.com/2024/04/20/ios-eligibility.html - not especially useful as a phone, but useful if you are not in EU but would quite like to test how your EU customers get your apps from alt app stores, web etc.
