I started over on my first #solo game of Scholars of the South Tigris as I was playing a portion wrong.

I can totally see why the weight is over 4 on BGG; there are a lot of things going on and you have to have a lot of foresight and planning to make things work out.

Hopefully I can finish tomorrow night and see how bad I lose.

So, I've played 4 #solo games of Wayfarers and I think I'm getting worse lol. I definitely peaked on my second game.

Time to pack it away and try out Scholars for the first time.

@bart Have you tried the solo variant? It's a lot of fun but might not be worth it to pick up the expansion for only solo.

This happens every time she learns a new game! And this came from my wife's mouth so I'm not bad talking.

First 1/2 of game, she is disinterested in learning something new.

Third quarter of the game, she wants to cry because it's all too much to take in.

Last quarter of the game, it all clicks and then she wins.

Tonight she won 48 to 47 in and followed the exact path laid out above. It's amazing.

An extra early game of Wayfarers this morning as I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I did much better compared to last night. 76 to 76 (against the space AI) and I won the tie breaker.

@leberschnitzel so much like Viscounts, the actual differing mechanisms works a lot better than the rulebook leads you to believe. I was pretty perplexed reading the book and thinking what in the world is this mess? But it definitely comes together. Only judging solo, but it seems the Journaling AI is going to be super difficult to beat. I will reserve my official opinion till I play against all 4. I like that the AI deck is a slick 6 cards and that's it.

Mt final panorama in Wayfarers of the South Tigris sure looks pretty but definitely didn't score many points. I think maybe it was the lack of space cards? Also, I went again the Journaling AI and he zipped right through the journal, triggering the game way quicker than I expected. But, I do have a much better feel for it now so I will try again tomorrow.

8 YO and I played #Canvas with both #Reflections and #FinishingTouches expansions

She squeaked out a win 52 to 47 and was super pumped about her beautiful paintings.

These bad boys just showed up. Not sure if I will get a chance to try Wayfarers tonight, but I will definitely bust into the box to read the rulebook.

Anyone have a favorite between these two? How about when playing ?

@Knightky Have you played anything from the West Kingdom trilogy? I have Viscounts and love it and hope these two have the same quality and fun.

I did much better in my second of , probably because I gave all the Foxes related names.

The AI didn't do near as well scoring study cards this time as I was a little more strategic in choosing parents that would keep his primary dice out of his hands. I also upgraded to multiple foxes earlier than I did last night.

Ending score was 58 to 42.

First #solo game of #TheFoxExperiment was pretty fun. I lost by 9 points (65 to 56) but the AI is a beast at completing study cards, so I don't feel too bad.

Going to try my hand at for the first time tonight. Playing it to learn the rules before teaching my wife. All I know is the rulebook is pretty large (33 pages) and the fox meeples are super cute.

@brbdc Well, we just bought some cards a week ago. My wife likes it bc it's Disney and its fast.

It's fine but I certainly wouldn't pick it over a lot of other games.
