@hacks4pancakes they seem to be fairly ruthless at burning some employees to protect people higher up. (They closed a whole newspaper in UK, but only when contagion looked likely)

I’ve always felt like Bitter Grounds, the Gaiman short story was a puzzle box that I just didn’t get. It starts with “in every way that counted, I was dead.” and proceeds to tell an elliptical story about a man who travels to New Orleans, adopts another guys identity, presents at a conference, talks to a lady, and then wakes up to a little girl and coffee. I think it has a meaning, more than just a theme, but I don’t know what it is.
