Considering a Harmony Juno, Thinline, a Fender Jaguar, Strat, or Tele. I’m planning a trip to a music shop this weekend to try out what they have. :blobaww: I want something that is comfortable to record on sitting down. I prefer the neck to be at a higher angle, kind of like when you play classical guitar, rather than parallel to the floor, because I like the wrist dexterity to articulate and move about. Any thoughts on this? I don’t want it cutting in painfully to my chest.

@Weru I will! Thanks! :blobcatcoffee:

@senders the Squier tele is a complicated situationship hahaha! I am in love with some of the sounds that they make (they are non-binary and their name is Buttercup) however there is no contour cut, there is some intonation stability issues, and the neck is sometimes prohibitive to doing some of the ideas I want to do. Moon (the Tremonti) has a neck that feels like it was made for my hand. But, I’m struggling with her sound preferences on what she likes to make, and ergonomics 🎸

@senders oooo ok I will also see if the shop has one of those around to try! :blobaww:

I forgot how fucking important music is to my brain.

Sleep, focus, work, doesn't matter music like centers my brain and lets me achieve what I'm trying to do.

Only drawback is some musics so good it steals my focus. So it needs to be something I've heard before so I can latch onto it but not let it suck me in

@senders lofi neosoul beats usually help me focus. Sometimes classical piano. Or instrumental acoustic guitar, but not when they bang all over the guitar the whole time.

    #introduction Hey what’s up, I’m Amber and I make music. I’m a home studio indie musician and I’m working on releasing my first singles and album soon! If you like melodic-led, experimental indie, you may like the projects I’m working on. Check out what I’ve got posted here if you want to try out what I make! I typically work with guitar, piano, harp, and synths. I’m always exploring and you’re welcome to come along with me on my musical wanderings! :blobcatcoffee: #music

    “long walk home”
    A snippet of my original tune “long walk home”. Guitar is my butterscotch squier telecaster, keys are on the Arturia keystep, and I used logic to mix the song. I’ll release a full version soon. Hope you all dig this! It’s a step in progress for me in production. :)

    A photo by me in the forest. Tall skinny trees are all around and the light comes between them. Heavy contrast and black and white create a moody atmosphere. I added a subtle bit of silver glow to enhance the leaves. Thank you for listening and have a lovely day/evening!!

    I’m going to be very honest and this is embarrassing to me, but it might help someone else recovering from burnout. Decisions that I felt certain about not four months ago, I look on now with a lot of confusion. What was I thinking? Well, I’ll tell you. I was thinking on a totally damaged and weakened brain. I thought that I felt negatively about so many things including music production and synths and even guitars. I was trying my best and still am. But I’ll be gentle with decisions for now.

    Does anyone have a YouTube channel suggestion for compact/mobile music production and recording with Logic or GarageBand? Please, let me know as a YouTube channel title and not a link to follow out; I won’t be able to click an outgoing link right now. Thanks :blobcatcoffee:

    What if I just did whatever I felt like doing, with music? I’m burying myself in anticipating the reception of other people. Why don’t I just try it this way.

    It’s been raining a lot which is nice. It does make me sleepy though. My mirrorhouse pedal has arrived and I’ll let you all know my review as soon as I get a chance to mess with it! :blobcatcoffee: I’ve been playing my violin this week. I haven’t spent serious time with it in many years. Something happened, I’m not sure what because the memory is deleted/blank. I experienced something with orchestra and suddenly shut down entirely from it after being very involved for…6 years?

    ambergrey,

    Working on starting from here where I’m at and trying to build an entirely new relationship to music :blobcatcoffee:

    philsherry, to random

    I’ve come back to some code that I wrote about six months ago, after doing zero JavaScript or Typescript since, and I’m like “Who was this masked man? Who wrote this stuff? How did they do it? How were they so skilled?”

    Front-end web development is tiring because of the expansive range of technologies. You can spend a few months doing just one thing very intensively and end up an SME, but then forget core parts of other things by the time you go back to them.

    Imposter syndrome is very real.

    ambergrey,
    @ambergrey@mastodon.social avatar

    @philsherry this is so true :blobcatcoffee:
