@apophis @chrisg @drewdevault If it's your work you can sign it off to someone else, why should it be illegal? Same on the other end, owners of a project are free to reject anyone's work if it's not on the terms they want. Whether it's a good idea for the contributor or not is another story.

I love how whenever you look up a concept in mathematics on Wikipedia you get one of those pages that's just a bunch of super complicated LaTeX formulas with characters you've never seen in your life. Not helpful at all for any layman whatsoever.

And then you look up the same mathematical concept in any programming documentation and it's just like "Oh it's just a vector used to calculate X" and it immediately makes sense.

@SuperDicq Quaternions are a special case, I think they're only used because they happen to have the exact same form as 3D rotors from geometric algebra (this is the same for complex numbers and 2D rotors, but this pattern doesn't continue in the other direction; generic octonions aren't neccessarily valid 4D rotors). So basically a case of duck typing in mathematics 🙃
