There, I have done my token morning of work (mostly deleting the many emails I have been needlessly copied in to), and now I can have an afternoon of gentle recuperation.

@sheepnik don't forget to exercise your suffrage.

Fun run-in at the polling station this morning with the officer who refused to recognise an EEA driving licence even though their visual guide issued clearly stated they are accepted visual ID documents because A) th licence was issued in Germany and B) I wouldn't be allowed to use it anyway because I have been in the UK for more than a year. Obviously both of these reasons were clearly wrong and another officer came to the rescue.

So folks, stand your ground resolutely! Particularly in the ironic situation when we are supposed to vote on a policing matter where non-British folks and people of colour of whichever nationality are disproportionately discriminated against in this country.

@nic that single blue line through the middle that is forking on the left -- TfW are planning to eliminate services on it. Car-free Wales? My carless butt! It's more like car-free M4 and A55 corridors with zero effs given for the 80mile stretch across the middle.

@nic not having a go at you. And it is a useful map. But it also very much distorts the situation on the ground. As you well know.

And finally here we can see Panda joining Brambles at the mossy branch. His fluffiness levels are getting out of control. He is starting to look like a sphere of wool.

@llamasoft_ox I once encountered a 🐏 grazing on the flanks of Cader Idris that was wider than it was tall. It looked like a particularly dense cloud.

I think about this 🐏 a lot.

@sheepnik it is absolutely not true that there were no public statues to named Welsh women anywhere in Wales. There has been one on public display in Machynlleth since 1909. https://rcahmw.gov.uk/mary-cornelia-vane-tempest-an-historical-statue-of-a-historical-welsh-woman/

Oh for fuck's sake. My heart sinks when someone posts a link to an article, you go to read it and after a few lines the text starts to fade out. You just know a "sign up to read the rest of this article" thing is going to scroll into view.

Fuck off with that shite.

There are a lot of things to say about Poor Things, but mine is: Give a straight man the idea of a beautiful woman who is entirely innocent of the world and the first thing he’ll do is imagine her spectacular sexual appetite, her consequent promiscuity, and what these do to the men around her. #PoorThings

_bydbach_,
@_bydbach_@toot.wales avatar

@CommonMugwort oh, it is a total humdinger of a novel. You will need a flowchart to keep track of who is on which plane of reality.

_bydbach_,
@_bydbach_@toot.wales avatar

@CommonMugwort so it sounds like they missed the point of the book ...

_bydbach_,
@_bydbach_@toot.wales avatar

@CommonMugwort I remain hopeful to catch it in theatres here in our Welsh cinematic backwater. If not, I'll have to get a copy. It certainly looks stylish enough.
