cats fighting again. easy enough to break it up, but again i worry about what happens when we're not home.

Cleo acts like she's hungry all the time & most of the cranky fighting happens when we're about 30 minutes from mealtime. She starts meowing a lot, and it gives Cloud anxiety.

Cloud would love to play non-stop and only eat when there's nothing to play with. Cleo doesn't want to play with him, and I think that's when the fights happen; he goes over to her and they get in a swatty thing.

I have to give a little address at an undergrad induction ceremony of a society that i am not myself a member of (& was never inducted into). I said yes bc the person who asked is a good egg. Update: I think it will be canceled by the pharmacy--it's probably a mistake because their webpage clearly says they are awaiting CDC recommendations before scheduling appointments. And the CDC is going to tell people my age to wait our turn, I assume.

A funny thing about an NYC apartment: it is really cold inside in the Fall and Spring. In the winter, the radiator is blazing (thankfully we can control the heat a bit on ours). In the summer, it's hot AF even with a window unit. But today, when the temp reached 69 F & it was warm outside, the apartment stayed cold. My feet and fingers are numb right now & I'm wearing wool socks and a fleece jacket.

I fostered 3 cats for them last year & I really loved meeting new kitties. Although I always had cats, fostering allowed me to learn a lot more about them and helping frightened and anti-social cats get used to being loved was really rewarding.

Apparently it is #NationalAdoptAshelterPetDay. In December we adopted two cats from two shelters, Bideawee & New York City Animal Care Center (& fostered 3 from #nycacc). They’re really good. Teapot & Cloud.

Pretty excited to be seeing #Weezer in my neighborhood tonight. The blue album was my balm in college. My CD skipped because i played it all the time. Just like my 20 yo self, i can sing these stupid words (🎶& i love every one, yes i do🎶), have maybe too many beers, & then walk home.
