I just published a personal narrative about my experience developing and maintaining an online chat tool called Speechbox. From its inception in 2007 to its current state, I discuss the challenges and successes encountered along the way.
They say it gets harder to acquire new skills as you get older. I refuse to believe that! 😄
So I learned a new skill recently, and you can too. https://www.teesche.com/juggling
This new blog posts serves as instruction manual and discusses a metaphor for life. Also, there’s another free giveaway – first come first serve! #juggling
@marcel I love the clean look. Can understand your musings about the vibe feeling off, too, even if I've never got to use the app. Sometimes that's just the case. But 🤩 for the confetti and Brooklyn 99 reference, and 🫨 for the slightly crooked middle bar in the burger menu icon 😂. Looking forward to your next iterations and/or app projects!
@marcel Haha, 🙏! It's so cool I'm not only making myself happy by reading the books and writing down some thoughts about them.
I did need a short break now between Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince, currently into Seth Godin’s "The Practice”.
@marcel Ok I'd like to play God’s (?) Avocado here: Have you asked yourself "why (not)" five times in a row yet? It seems to be a game changing device and also the center of your personal / professional path forward.
I've had a similar situation when considering to fly to the US "just" for the NYC Marathon. My wife convinced me in the end, because it's such an important thing in my life. I'm extremely grateful for it now. Life is short, go grab that device at Apple Store 5th Ave!
@marcel I'd recommend to fast-track the running thing, no pun intended. Runners are everywhere and it's easy to get into it. I myself and many people I know have massively improved their social lives via taking up running. Running groups like Hamburg's Tide Runners are fine, but you still need to start conversations with strangers there. I'd recommend joining Strava, checking who runs in your area (at your pace) and hitting them up for a 1:1 run. Talking while running is so good. 👍
@marcel Same here, you better bring ice skates. Trail shoes do the trick too, though. One important rule: No excuses! And another push: The chances of coming home from a run regretting the decision are at about .1%. The endorphins are earned and real. Even, and especially, if the circumstances were harsh. ⛸️
@marcel Have you found a different case that's better? I'm wondering what to do when my 15 Pro arrives in a few weeks. Have been a leather case guy for years now.
