We just finished a draft of a pattern for our little Brook the Chicken catnip toys!
...I have no idea what I'm doing. I think the draft is okay, but now what? We have one volunteer test knitter - how many more should we gather, and how long should we give them? What's the general etiquette for test knitting? Help??
I've been wanting to learn to sew a sling bag, so I purchased this pattern from Etsy and spent the afternoon making it. It was more challenging than I expected, partly because I used metal rather than nylon coil zippers and had to be careful not to sew the metal. The design is adorable. I love that the D-ring slides along a band in the back so the bag can be worn on either shoulder. I may try to make another one with different fabric. No plans to add LEDs, but that could change.
A little story for a couple of the chickens we're selling! They're fundraisers for the #ArtisansCoOp, an alternative to #Etsy that's owned by actual artisans and supporters. The beta marketplace site launched yesterday!
Please boost: the #ArtisansCoOp announced the opening of their beta marketplace yesterday!!
If you’re tired of #Etsy’s nonsense - racking up fees, prioritizing profits over artisans - this might be interesting to you. We’re working on building a better place for #handmade artisans to sell what we make.
Something very exciting: #ArtisansCoOp has announced their beta marketplace!!
If you haven't heard of it yet, it's an #Etsy alternative, owned by the artisans and supporters who will actually use the site. I'm so excited for it! I want to see it thrive. You can learn more here: https://artisans.coop/pages/about-us
This is a sturdy knitted bag with a button closure. It's made with acrylic machine-washable yarn, so if you get it dirty, you can just toss it in the washer and dryer. If you'd like to show off your #asexual pride with a unique handmade item, this purse might be perfect for you!
We've added an #asexual flag purse to our collection of knitted pride flag purses! It's sturdy, with a button closure. The prototype was a trans pride flag purse for ourselves, and it's lasted years.
If you'd like to show off your #ace pride with a unique handmade item, and you need a way to carry your wallet/phone/other items, this purse might be perfect for you!
