I rediscovered this video a few years ago and everytime I watch it, it makes me feel quite sad. I couldn’t quite put a finger on it but now I think it brings me extreme dysphoria because I never got to experience the girl teenage years.

From what I gather, the house was inspected and deemed not fit for habitation. They failed to mail the notices to the proper address. House was too get torn down either way, the guy in the story just didn’t get the warnings.
There is a reason we stopped calling it this professionally a long time ago. It’s because this isn’t new news. Increased climate temperatures will lead to increased periods of cold as well.

After 19 years, Alberta’s graduated driver’s licence program is getting an overhaul. Come spring 2023, drivers with a GDL will no longer have to do the $150 advanced road test for Class 5 and Class 6 motorcycle licences and an additional road test will no longer be required to upgrade to a Class 4.
As someone benefiting from this change, it’s the best option right now.
I tried to take my re-test, and was failed for not coming to a complete stop 3 times. To quote the tester " I need to feel the lurch". He saw that I came to a complete stop, but found an out to fail me anyways. There goes $200 and a few hours of my life for what exactly? Arguably we should have a .00 BAC for any driver anyways.
The whole system needs a rework imo, but the GDL system is just a money grab and I’m glad it’s being dealt with.

Canada Bread has agreed to pay at least $50 million for its role in fixing the price of bread for years, according to documents filed in an Ontario court.
So because I'm not entirely sure how this all works, maybe someone can inform/correct me.
So a bunch of companies were working together to increase/overvalue the price of bread?
Isn't that exactly what gas stations/companies have been doing for years now? There is a reason you don't see gas station wars anymore, if individual stations don't price their gas at what the company decides it's worth they get slapped. How is that not price fixing?
I've always done just a salt cure on yolks, but that dries them up entirely and doesn't impart flavor, using soy sauce as the salt instead keeps them soft while giving them a fantastic flavor!
You know what I'm not excited for, all these companies locking long battery life behind a fricken paywall. My future car is gonna be carrying around a heavy-ass battery and not be able to use the entire volume.
I'm really hoping not, but I expect the least from these companies.
I know patron takes a slice of the pie, but I don't know the details on Liberapay or OpenCollective. Presumably crypto would have the least potential for fees, but I would rather pledge fiat.
