Walking through the streets of Singapore. A mural and its history.
Lau Choy Seng clog and kitchenware store was established in 1948 behind this wall.
Half of the store made and sold wooden clogs, and the other half sold kitchen utensils.
Wooden clogs were popularly used in kitchens and in wet markets back then, but in the 1980s, rubber sandals became more popular and the clog business went out of business.
The cookware business passed on to the second and third generations of the family and continues to thrive to this day. #urbanphotography#trips#placesoftheworld#streetart
A popular German legend tells that a medieval knight was walking with his beloved along the bank of a river. The lady, seeing the beauty of some small bright blue flowers, asked the gentleman to pick them for her. The knight, bending down next to the river to pick the flowers, fell into the water. The weight of the armor prevented him from floating, but before sinking, he shouts: “Don't forget me!”, and throws these flowers at his lover. #macrophotography#wildflowers#spring#legend#donotforgetme#nature
Today, on International Earth Day, I bring you a photo of my favorite Chilean plant. Puya alpestris or chagual, this beautiful plant is slow growing, and can take many years to flower, between 2 and 5 years. Human action has caused the population of these plants to decrease, which is affecting species such as the largest butterfly in Chile, which is now in danger of extinction. You never know how the disappearance of one species could doom another. #Earthday#naturephotohraphy#chile#plants#wildflowers#endemic#nature#takecareofthe planet
@Konenpanien Wow thank you, cause I had never seen the primary form of this real life pokemon before evolution!
Glad to see that the kids have their own little carnival costume! 🤩
Forest fairies (Adela reaumurella) It was so fascinating to see these little moths dancing around the branches of the trees in the forest, although the photos are not the best, it is the magic of the moment. #naturephotography#moths#insects#forest#spring#nature
I love hummingbird flies, they are amazing at maneuvering in flight and staying still in one place.
These and other species of the family play a fundamental role in the pollination of plant species whose flowers are "inaccessible" to other insects. #nature#hummingbirdflies#bombylius#naturephotography#macrophotography#forest#spring
