@ellabellafull Yeah it's been pretty bad lately. For me it's been off and on, some days it's fine, yesterday I got 'contacting servers' a bunch but never booted. I sure hope they sort this soon.

I think it's neat how double clicking the #Diablo4 icon on my Desktop just opens the Battle net app.

It doesn't start the game, it just opens their dumb store instead of the game I already purchased. And then an ad for COD or whatever crap appears.

I have to either click Launch in their store or double click the desktop icon again, and then it'll launch.

10/10 dark pattern experience, #Blizzard.

just works on my . I didn't have to tweak any settings. It just plays, and plays wonderfully.

PLUS I didn't have to wait in a queue, there are no error messages, and I'm not getting randomly disconnected.

Did we switch timelines or something? 😂

Pro: My wife is slowly becoming more of a gamer, she plays a few on her own. Currently: Mario + Rabbids 2.

Diablo 3 is one of the few games that clicked for her and us playing in co-op. She’s pretty excited for #Diablo4. 6/6 is her birthday, and for the first time ever she took a half day off work - for a game! - so we can play together.

Con: She absolutely wants to wait for that day, so we can’t start early today or this weekend. 😅😫

Update: She changed her mind! We both had long weeks so she was up for just relaxing Fri night. #Diablo4

I bought the early release edition and we played for ~ 1.5 hours last night, which is a long single session for her (I’m so proud!). We’re celebrating her birthday with friends this evening but surely we’ll play more over the weekend since we both just want to chill at home.

"Based" and "cuck" are words that may be okay to say sometimes. I guess?

But every time someone says them I peer at them just a bit more closely.

It's like a stereotype, of kids playing with the "wrong crowd" and showing up at home with some new slang.

The slang might be fine in isolation, but who have you been speaking with that you've adopted that phrasing?

Other things, like throwing around "alpha" and "beta" and "chad" sound like you're an MRA.

Everyone complains about the Switch being underpowered, but my time with the Steam Deck (which I love) has convinced me that I’d prefer that and to keep the form factor, weight and battery life of the Switch over something closer to design of the Steam Deck.

@andyn I’m on the fence. On one hand, the Switch size is obviously great for packing and travel. But even though I’m a short 5’8” guy, it’s still small enough as to be uncomfortable for my hands.

The Steam Deck fits much better for me, and I appreciate the power for the games I like to play. The Switch’s power works for Nintendo’s cartoony aesthetic, but it struggles on other aesthetics and graphics for, say, Elden Ring. Or even Bayonetta 3.

@fediverse What type of social media do you feel is lacking most in the fediverse?

To elaborate, there are a lot of different types of social media already on the fediverse such as microblogs, regular blogs, image sharing, link sharing and video sharing.

Personally, I'd love to see a gaming-focused social media platform on the fediverse.

Heads up #Destiny2 y’all: I see a lot of chatter that Resilience might be broken in the game (again). People are getting one-shot or next to death when they absolutely shouldn’t be, even in basic content.

If this is the case, we are effectively stuck at Resilience tier zero, regardless of armor stats or mods. I haven’t seen Bungie acknowledge it yet but there’s way too much chatter; something’s up. #Lightfall #Destiny2Lightfall
