Here’s When Covid Is Most Contagious, According to Doctors.

The CDC suggests that people infected with Covid who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms should isolate for at least 5 days after symptoms start and wear a mask through day 10.

If you have moderate or severe symptoms, you should isolate for at least 10 days, but you might be infectious for longer and may need to isolate for up 20 days, the CDC says.

@DenisCOVIDinfoguy @auscovid19 The problem is most places of work in the US have removed special consideration for COVID diagnosis and now you have to use up your sick days isolating... and since you can easily get COVID multiple times in a year, the vast majority will just shut up about their mild COVID diagnosis and go to work, infecting others.

I finally decided to just buy an XBOX controller for my PC. I have been using some cheap PC controller for years but playing Forza has made it clear the damn thing SUUUUCKS. After one race using the XBOX controller I will never use a cheaper alternative again. #gaming

I support being recognized as a free state. I do not support what did last month. I support Israel's right to defend itself. I do not support the bombing civilians just to get at a handful of Hamas leaders.

does not need ANY extra money to wage their "war" against Hamas. But NEEDS aid ASAP to fight & the dog-wagging war on reality instituted by & his regime. Israel is not in a democracy-ending scenario. Ukraine is.

    @cloudguy I don't think this is fair. The issue they have is about AI REPLACING artists. No one is saying the artists can't CHOOSE to use AI. Not to mention, the green screen was not a "digital technology." It's been around for far longer than any digital art. CGI has for decades still been created by humans. 4K lenses & digital cameras are just tools for artists to use, they don't make the art without the artist's input.

    @cloudguy Yes, I'm aware. In fact, that IS part of the argument the actors are making in their strike. They want to stop the abuse of replacing actors with such technology, or at the least have artists compensated for the repeated use of the replacement. So, they're not saying AI should never be used. They're saying AI should be used reasonably, and/or when the artists want it to be used, not just so studios can cut out the artists to save money.

    @cloudguy Not to mention, the argument directors & producers would make about the mass replacement of extras is that it was cost-ineffective to have thousands of them. This was something people didn't have a big problem with because it increased the scope of a scene. But studios suggested they could replicate actors with AI and only afford them with a single compensation, the initial one. That's a problem. Or replicate deceased actors forever. It's not as simple as they don't want AI.

    @cloudguy Heh. Listen, I love the idea of AI. I've been beta testing these LLMs & beyond for a while now. I use them in my everyday life. But that's my choice. I certainly wouldn't want someone to make a podcast with my voice saying things I may or may not say WITHOUT getting my permission and compensating me.

And two, this is actually something I hinted at in my first novel, which I started writing many years before it was even something people thought possible anytime soon (now it just seems lame but I thought it was pretty revolutionary of an idea when I was coming up with it).

    @TheEuropeanNetwork Russian disinformation machine is more dangerous than their nukes, yet governments & news services keep letting them manipulate the environment without taking them as seriously as they should. Their entire effort is to create right-wing extremism that will then side with their extremist actions so Russia can, over the next decade, gain wide control of what "facts" mean to the masses, normalizing bullshit as truth.

    I've tested a bunch of social media platforms so you don't have to. Here is my quick summary:

    1. #Bluesky is okay but quickly turned into a popularity contest.

    2. #Threads = 0 engagement.

    3. #Twitter #X sucks more than ever.

    4. #Tribel is like #Bluesky in that early adopters dominate the entire discourse.

    5. #Mastodon has the highest engagement, the fewest instances of trolling, and people tend to be nice.

    Obviously, this is MY experience & doesn't mean it will be YOUR experience.

    @cloudguy I feel ya. I podcasted from 2008 until around 2020. During the early days, I could actually make money doing it. Then everyone and their grandmother started podcasting and that died off (at one point, I had 60,000 downloads for one episode, by 2020, that was down to maybe 500).

    @cloudguy Good luck. I should note that if you do make it through the whole book, the not-free version has extra material like a foreword and afterword explaining a bit of the process. It also has extra chapters that were based on ideas we had for future novels that will likely never be written considering one of us didn't survive 2020.

    @cloudguy Thank you. And I'll keep that in mind. However, the first novel wasn't really a writing partner situation, more of a creative partner. I wrote every word of that novel. But we discussed it for years before anything was written down. I'm not sure if I'm a good actual writing partner. I was never good in bands either. I had to write everything. There is something wrong with my brain.
