We can count on Russia that even while it can't "win" the war in Ukraine , it can always execute the "Grozny scenario" , destroy as much as possible, increase the suffering for civilians where possible. If the west let them execute this strategy, Ukraine could still "lose".

The worries about escalation are justified but it's crazy to expect from Ukraine to let Russia destroy Kharkiv and not allow them to defend themselves, also by hitting targets in Russia from where attacks are launched on Ukraine. Ofcourse they will use supplied weapons for that.
