In the last 48 hours, I have written over 3,400 words in my mock draft. My brain is fried, it's done. Kaput. I'm taking the rest of this weekend off writing. I got nothing left in me for this.
@dekkzz76 No, and you saw that post? Dammit, I was hoping I got it deleted before anyone saw. Writing out quick little draft profiles for draft night for each prospect that I'll post once they're taken. That was supposed to go in my drafts, not posted publicly yet.
@dekkzz76 I haven't watched any since posting it. I hope to tonight. I never got past episode 3, so I plan to get back on track with episode 4 tonight.
@adamjcook I'm not the greatest graphic designer either, but I've been doing it as a child so I know what my limitations are and what I'm good at, and what I'm not. My skills lend well to text heavy designs, because I'm quite good with fonts, making my own fonts, editing fonts, knowing what looks good font-wise, etc. The actual design, less so.
@ColleenB@mike The ads have gotten so bad I posted this last night to help others find a way to avoid ads (and thankfully at least one said they were going to copy me):
@emarktaylor@hockey@hnom@fos Not surprised. It was locked away on cable that fewer and fewer people have. I personally don't have cable and therefore didn't watch it. Would have gladly watched it if it were on ABC and I know others who are in the same boat. This is just a self-inflicted wound by the NHL, as per usual.
Was talking with non-Red Wings fans online about the draft, and it seems as if the consensus from non-Wings fans is that even if Michkov is available at 9, the Wings can't draft him. The reason is that they perceive the rebuild to be stuck and needs to advance now, not wait for three years. They don't think this team can wait three years for a superstar. Thoughts (from both Wings and non-Wings fans)? Genuinely want to know what people think about this. #LGRW#NHL#HNOM
Look, Damon Severson is a fine defender, but why 8 years for 6.25 million when he's turning 29? Also, he's an offensive defender, something we're loaded on. We need shutdown defenders. I just don't get this signing. In a vacuum, getting Severson is fine, but why are we signing a 29 year old to that long of a term when he's a second-line defender, and to that much? Also, why are we still going after offensive defenders. 1/2
Folks: I have done it. I have completely mocked out the first two rounds of this year's NHL draft. My brain is fried, I know too many names, and I won't be touching this again for 4–5 days at least to get other things done. When I get back to this, I will be writing my justifications for the first round picks.
Working on my mock draft, and damn. My mind is going crazy keeping all these names straight and who I've had drafted already, team needs, player positions, etc. Brain is fried. I'm going to work more on it today, but I'm working on anything else for the next 4–5 days.
Up until today, the narrative about Chris Osgood from non-Wings fans was that he wasn't that good and only looked good because Lidstrom was in front of him. Today, Blue Jackets fans are claiming that no, Osgood was good, and it was only because of Babcock. I can't do this.
New Vibes Based Hockey article! In this one, I go over three recent stories of toxic hockey culture at Harvard, College of St. Benedict, and Hockey Canada.

So, Aaron Portzline just wrote an article saying that he thinks the Jackets could trade the third pick overall for Elias Lindholm. I'm going to assume (and hope) that this is Portzline talking out of his ass, because if Jarmo does this, he should fired immediately.
@dekkzz76 Nah. I'm actually taking credit for the win by claiming that my giving up on them is what got the sports gods to finally shine favorably on the Walleye.
