@carlton Almost no one can solve them without solutions, or patterns called ‘algorithms’. J Perm has a good site and a good YouTube channel, even for beginners.
Why are we so shy about discussing our and our kids’ #neurodivergence in public? We began attending cubing events about six months ago. My #NDDAR pings a lot there. Only as a parent and I realized our kids were similar, the floodgates opened. It was nice! And the kids heard us talking and joined in a bit. No stigma or drama, but still initially hush hush.
Hello #Mastodon, this is my intro 👋🏾

passionate about #softwareengineering (which explains why I care so much about my home-office 😄) #publicTransportation and #bike user,
used to do #speedcubing as a teenager (personal best 17.5s), nowadays a casual #rubikscube enjoyer (still sub 30s),
learning the electric guitar and planning to cover ALL songs by #IronMaiden (...some day 😆 not in a hurry),
into #boardgames, #bouldering, and casual #volleyball ,
started learning #Hindi as a foreign language and having A LOT OF FUN at it! 😍

I got myself a new 5x5, the YJ MGC magnetic model, I had not gotten myself a new cube since like 2019 and this thing moves faster than my 3x3 somehow. To be fair I have to clean it up, it's been a while.
Sub 3 minutes, I had not practiced in ages, I feel like I can be sub 2:30 today with how dirty my solves are right now
#speedcubing The Mirror Cube is delightfully evil, because it totally fucks up my muscle memory, forcing me to know what I'm doing. Back to re-learning some algorithms, I guess. 😀
