The most renowned Slovenian computer is a server known as Stenar. 💻 Acquired in the independence year of 1991, Stenar was instrumental in connecting Slovenia with the world, facilitating the free flow of information. 🌍🔗 At our museum, Stenar proudly stands as a permanent exhibit, open for public viewing.
⌨️📺 The DEC VT100 is a historically significant computer terminal. It was available in Slovenia under the name KOPA d.d. 1000. We obtained our specimen in 2006, and it is in working condition, but it lacked a keyboard. Now we've tracked one down and hope to try it out soon! 💪
🐘🔍 Yesterday, the reader and emulator for MFM disks arrived. We couldn't resist, and after midnight, managed to read all 3 Fujitsu 47 MB disks from 2 Triglav J-11 computers. Unlike the test samples collected from the workshop, these were 100% readable and error-free 🤩 The operating system is DELTA-M, based on RSX-11M.
The first domestic 16-bitter, PMP-11, was developed in 1984. PMP-11 boasted 64 KB of RAM and 2 KB of ROM memory. It featured the third in the series of 16-bit DEC microprocessors named T-11. In tests, PMP-11 proved to be a contender with the DEC PDP-11/34 mini-computer. 🚀
📸 Upon your request, here are additional photographs showcasing this exquisite piece! 🇸🇮 The Slovenian Iskra Delta "Triglav" computer is a testament to Slovenia's remarkable contributions to computing, adding significantly to the prestigious Iskra Delta series that debuted in the 1980s. 💻🌟
We've installed a screensaver on the exhibited Slovenian computer Partner to help preserve it for as long as possible 💚. Our colleague Matej also wisely avoided using the term "any key" to prevent anyone from searching too long for the "any" key on the keyboard 😅.
🐘 A 200 kg cabinet, part of the Iskra Delta 4850 system, equipped with four 14'' Fujitsu hard disks, has the same capacity (1 GB) as a 2-gram SD card. Today, microSD cards, weighing just 250 mg, carry a staggering 1 TB of storage capacity! 🤯
💾💾 We aspire to collect, preserve, and showcase as much Slovenian software for the DOS environment as possible. Many of these treasures have been unearthed from aging hard drives, while others have been graciously contributed by generous donors.😍
❤️📺 The emulator for the iconic Iskra Delta Partner is just a click away - https://partner.muzej.si/ (please note that the keyboard on mobile devices is not functional yet; for CP/M, press Ctrl+C immediately after selecting a game 😎)
✉🏔 A commemorative postage stamp featuring the Iskra Delta Triglav computer, which is part of our collection, was issued in 2016 by the Post of Slovenia in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer and Information Science and the Philatelic Association of Slovenia.😍
The ID80 standalone computer.
The Iskradata 80, a distributed computer system developed and manufactured in 1979 and 1980 in Slovenia, featured a Z80 processor, two 256-kB floppy disk drives, and a printer. Distributed processing allowed database access on the network. Computers could work independently or in a network of up to 16, connecting via RS-232 and using sync/asyn protocols for transfers.
