jonikorpi, 4 days ago to gamedev Worked on non-visual stuff all year and missing #screenshotsaturday, so here are some choice clips from last year’s prototypes. #gamedev Tiny player character with an anime-style portrait frame, standing on a forested coastal island. Stylized, French comic-ish graphics. Hex grid world. When a hex is clicked, the world loses its color, apart from the bits surrounding the character, and displays a pathfinding route to the clicked hex. Tiny player character freely walking in a wobbly fashion around a sandy coastline, near a forest. Glitchy player portrait frame randomises between different faces. Tiny player character with feminine portrait, standing in a forest. The world loses its colour when the camera zooms in, only colouring in the bits the character can move to. Similar to the videos before this one, but this time the world is foggy, and only the character’s surroundings are clear, and the colors there very saturated. Mountainous area with a bay.

jonikorpi, 4 days ago Aaand some of my favourite screenshots, because I’m enjoying going through these #gamedev #screenshotsaturday A rather epic cliff-surrounded plateau. Foggy coast with some woods underneath it. Drier terrain on top of the plateau. Distant view of an arctic coastal area. Wide swathes of brightly coloured fog all around. A valley at the edge of what I think are tundra and taiga biomes. Nice line of fog at the bottom of the valley, and a little lake.

Special plants block the light, but not the player. This makes it possible to hide secret areas or separate paths on the same screen

guntha, 4 days ago to climate For this #screenshotsaturday, I've been reworking the level editor for Fire Exit, and got some undo-redo working: #indiegame #climatechange #indiegamedev #gamedev #2DGame #clicker #leveleditor #FireExit #dearimgui #DirectX12 #OpenGL A demo of the level editor for Fire Exit, including several sub-editors. At the end, every change is reverted with ctrl+z

maxim, 4 days ago to gamedev Computer Vision gameplay mechanic... I changed the way markers are drawn by Draw Material Simple node. This method allows you to use material, where you can make animation. But it works only in HUD Blueprint in Event Receive Draw HUD #gamedev #ScreenshotSaturday #UnrealEngine5 #gameplay #gamedesign #UnrealEngine #ue5 #HashtagGames video/mp4

maxim, 4 days ago to gamedev I am working on a new little game mechanic... a Computer Vision (CV) of the protagonist, an assistant program for identifying the objects he sees. What I do: in the Blueprint -> Box Trace for Objects -> save Locations to array... In the Widget -> OnPaint function -> Draw Box To be continued... #gamedev #ScreenshotSaturday #UnrealEngine5 #gamedesign #IndieGameDev #indiedev #UE5 video/mp4
