Glad to see the Spanish naval barqentine Juan Sebastián de Elcano, soon to celebrate her 100th birthday, in Boston again.
She was tied up next to the Constitution in the Charlestown Navy Yard. When the Constitution fired the daily 8am cannon, a sailor on the tip of the Elcano's huge bowsprit broke out the Spanish flag, and the barquentine played the Spanish national anthem and then the Star Spangled Banner.
Just published an update to my video game prototype Pirate Sea Jam written in #rust using the #bevy game engine. Also check out the corresponding dev log about #sailing physics simulation.

Of course there were things to do; there always were, and some of them could even be listed in the "important" column.
But at the moment, nothing seemed more important than standing in the yard, overlooking the bay filled with sailboats, and just letting one's mind glide from one thought to another, as if it too were sailing on the bay.
Heading out to our last #ParaDragonboating team practice of the month! Our first race is next Sunday, May 26th. I'll post more info about that, after this weekend.
I will be moving into #outrigger#paddling training sessions, after May 26th Gorge Fairway Super Sprints dragon boat season opener races.
I'll need to coordinate my outrigger training dates with my #ParaSailing training, which starts in June. I'm training with Able Sail, to obtain recertification for my #WhiteSails. Able Sail runs their #sailing programs for #PeopleWithDisabilities out of Oak Bay marina. I'm looking forward to sailing those waters. Only sailed Esquimalt & Metchosin areas prior.
It was a good day, a quiet day, and it passed pleasantly out on the water as one literally watched the world go by.
Or more accurately, the world stayed in one place as you sailed by it.
And now, as evening approaches, it's time to think about coming back to shore, but then again, there's really no hurry about that. There's no hurry about a lot of things . . .
