Ok, I've got the Translucency and Blur options turned off in the #KDE#Plasma "Desktop Effects" control panel, but I've still got an Application Launcher that's a bit too transparent for my liking.
Oh dear. Plasma is such a pleasure until you start mucking about with settings %)
Massive work done by Reilly on upgrading our @kde#Plasma to 5.27.4. It just landed in the #Solus unstable repo! Joey is working to bring you KDE Gears 23.04, with both arriving to a system near you during our next sync.🥳 - Josh
#KDE#Plasma's new tiling mode really needs to let you have different tiling layouts per virtual desktop to be useful.
I like the fact that it lets you have a gap between windows. I just wish there was a setting to change the size of the outer gap (around the screen edges).
Is this #Hyprland ? #KDE ? Both? Neither? I'm lost for words..
This happens when choosing "Plasma (Wayland)" in SDDM and it just shows a black screen so I move into tty1 and launch hyprland. I'll ask for help later, now I need to study...
I didn't realize just how much I missed #KDE#Plasma.
No hatin' on #XFCE, but man, this is such smooth, clean, elegant desktop.
It adapts to my crazy brain almost as well (possibly better *) than #i3wm.
*The only thing I don't like about i3 is that floating windows always float above tiled windows. It would be nice if they could be brought above and below freely, but they're on a layer that's permanently above anything tiled. Minor niggle, though.
Back to #KDE#Plasma.
The occasional bugs "bugged" me, so I went to #xfce, but I found its limited keyboard controls... limiting.
I tried #Gnome for about five minutes and ran screaming for the hills. :D
When I activate it the whole ui including the mouse freezes for a half second. Reproducible on 2 different machines. A quick search of the bug tracker found nothing.
