#Pitivi is really buggy for working with videos. So I had to switch to #Kdenlive for my occasional video tasks.
Today, it was Kdenlive (not even available in #NixOS!) that tested my frustration tolerance way too much: crashed (but restored), effect could be applied 3 times but identical task didn't work the 4th+5th time. Result contains ugly red artifacts that could not be removed.
Is there any proper FOSS video manipulation software I could use for cutting, obfuscation, inserting images, ...?
I watched some #OpenShot tutorials and it really looked great as a replacement of the bad #pitivi or #kdenlive experiences.
So I installed OpenShot 2.6.1 on my Debian stable to re-do the latest kdenlive-task to fix its broken result, imported a clip, opened the preferences and the tool crashed.
#LogicielLibre#OpenShot#Kdenlive#Shotcut#Pitivi
I've been using things like #scribus, #openshot, #gimp and #inkscape since we started with Bushido Duels, all tools I've continued to use for our upcoming #boardgame Perilous Pond.
For This game, the new tool on my belt is #blender. I started with creating stills of the game for the back of the prototype box. One thing led to another and I ended up doing animations for the Kickstarter trailer (see it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1432428534/perilous-pond)
I made a very low-tech video for the first track on my upcoming album release. It was my first foray into using something other than #iMovie.
I decided to try using #Openshot because it is free and would, for example, allow me to layer more than two videos in the frame at once, something Apple’s offering would not. My computer chugged quite a bit, so it was a struggle, but I think I’ll be using it for the rest of the album. Ideas are flowing now!
