Needed to use the milk that had stored up, so I made suji halwa for Saturday breakfast ✨ BFF#2 had shown me how to make it last month. We were talking about fasting for Shivratri yesterday. She's doing it; I wanted to but I knew I wouldn't be able to fast. Today I did have enough milk to pour over a Shiva linga, but instead I used it for my breakfast. And Lord Shiva and I are both happy! in a casually blasphemous but physically and spiritually fulfilling way 🖤 💚
Had leftover tare from last weekend's boxed ramen set (patiently prepared by my husband). Decided to make it the sauce for tonight's tuna mushroom salpicao, with a dash of Kikkoman. So glad it worked!

When you've got your period and so sick that you can't cook a proper lunch, but you also need something a bit fancy to feel good about 🍀 Incidentally, I heard recently that eating khichuri on Tuesdays and Saturdays helps in remediating the malefics. This is technically a khichuri; not a traditionally spiced and wok-stirred one, but simpler.

This is the best fucking mochi I ever had and also the best food I had in my whole trip back so far. Fifty tales duck egg kaya mochi taco. The mouthfeel is amazing. The taco crunches, then the mochi is soft and squishy, then the filling is rich, runny, savory sweet. I'm gonna miss this so much when I go back to the U.S. 😭
Big rice noodles and marinated seafood with gravy sauce at Rat Na Yot Phak 40 years (but the MBK branch). Delightfully smokey noodle dish and they do not skimp on the seafood and mushrooms!
Visited this very well-hidden Xinjiang restaurant at PJ SS14 that @irfan recommended.
It’s just an unassuming terrace house inside some housing area and there’s no signboard outside or anything… but it’s still crowded inside which is a great testament to the food quality & reputation! We ate inside one of the bedrooms since the living room was full of people.
