After hearing arguments on the matter on Monday, #Quebec#SuperiorCourt Justice #MarcStPierre denied the request Wednesday morning. The judge suggested that the school modify its request and file it to court within the next 10 days.
A 3-judge panel of Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals said that it was dissolving its own earlier ruling, which had cleared the way for the law to be implemented once the #SupremeCourt acted.
The late-night reversal meant that an #injunction imposed by a #federal district court last month would again be in force, blocking the #law from being in effect.
The back-&-forth series of #legal orders — & the on-again-off-again reality of a sweeping new #state-level #immigration law— prompted uncertainty along the #border & defiance from #Mexico’s govt on Tues.
Even before the #FifthCircuit’s late order, it had been unclear when #Texas would begin making arrests under the law.
The prelim #injunction granted by US Dist Judge Ezra pauses a #law that was set to take effect Mar5 & comes as #POTUS#Biden & …#Trump, were visiting #Texas' southern #border to discuss #immigration. TX ofcls are expected to #appeal. Opponents call the TX measure the most dramatic attempt by a #state to #police immigration since a 2010 #Arizona law that opponents rebuked as a “Show Me Your Papers” bill. #SCOTUS partially struck down the AZ law, but some #Republican ldrs want the ruling reviewed.
#CatLake#FirstNation (CLFN) has filed for an #injunction in the Divisional Court of #Ontario seeking to stop #FirstMiningGold (FMG) from constructing a new access road using Permits issued by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry (#OMNRF). This is against the wishes of #CLFN on whose #NativeTerritory the new road is being built. The road construction is underway at a fast pace and Ontario & FMG have refused to stop construction.

Why isn’t this disgusting waste of #taxpayers💰in furtherance of a scheme…
By the #texas Gov. #gregabbott to push his political agenda…
At the cost of lives!
Much like #Hitler …He thinks these lives don’t matter.
It’s blatant #machiavellian campaign of hate & power.
Unfortunately, Texas citizenry pay the enormous price tag…& public shaming.
My colleague has analysed the first order of the Unified Patent Court leading to a provisional injunction against a defendant. An interesting question - might the defendant actually have been in a better position if it had not filed a protective letter?
#KansasHighwayPatrol is big angry that the #court slapped an #injunction on them for their regular practice of violating the rights of #drivers passing through their state. They say the conditions dictated by the court are just too onerous and impractical. Apparently, respecting the rights of the drivers they stop is just too unreasonable and unfair. I'm expecting the judge's response to be, "Did I stutter?"
