I posted the closing statement from my talk at FOSSY earlier this year in text format, in case anyone is interested. It's titled "Software is Political"
"State of accessibility is deteriorating in the Linux Ecosystem"
Ana e só #fossy2023
They are right but worth paying the @gnome foundation to help improve it faster by hiring folks.
If you are at #FOSSY and haven't yet signed the @phpledge , why not take a moment and do that now?
Show your support for your #FOSS community and the folks who helped organise this great event, and others like it: @northbaypython@SeaGL
by showing that you expect all conferences to take steps to protect you. It took a while for Codes of Conduct to become the norm. Health Policies are on the way - help us get there sooner!
@Delib@phpledge@northbaypython@SeaGL Sad news, but expected. I hope they're ok. Covid was almost certainly going to arrive - if it was possible to hold a conference with only healthy participants the masks etc. wouldn't be needed.
Testing means we know about it, and that person can isolate.
And because people are masking and being careful (and the masks and signs remind them to be careful) it can be contained.
"Every picture of a masked face. Every negative COVID test. Every captioned picture from the event makes a difference. Every single one helps to normalize taking these basic precautions. Thank you. You are my tribe."
So working on my presentation for #Fossy#Fossy2023 and needed some pictures of the big mirror box that started it all from @kwf and so I went to scroll through Twitter.
I literally ran into my view limit scrolling back through his feed trying to find the photos.
