History of [ (3/3)] From now on, there's no need to wait for the next total and to travel the globe to observe it: the development, on the ground and in space, of - a technique invented in 1931 by Bernard Lyot - makes it possible to reproduce this celestial phenomenon.

ESA is currently developing the -3 mission, which will be capable of generating solar eclipses on the fly from space: https://www.esa.int/Enabling_Support/Space_Engineering_Technology/Proba_Missions/ESA_s_solar_eclipse_maker_Proba-3

Looking forward to the future! 😋

"Wondering how much of the eclipse you will see? NASA has a tool that lets you search by city or ZIP code to see complete eclipse details. For example, in Huntsville, the eclipse will start at 12:42 p.m. and be completely finished by 3:18 p.m. At its maximum, 90% of the sun will be covered by the moon."

A team of researchers from Strasbourg ´s Observatory has selected 41 bright astrometric binaries from the 3rd Gaia data release (#Gaia-DR3) that could also be eclipsing #binaries and double-line spectroscopic binaries (SB2).
Photometric observations from amateur astronomers to cover #eclipses effectively are needed.
