Downtown Toronto normally sees a lot of construction projects each summer, but this year there's a big addition. So how is the city managing congestion? CBC Toronto went looking for answers about what’s being done and what other solutions might help keep the city moving.
The UK is a hot country. It’s time to build like it.
The UK’s houses are still designed to retain heat. In an age of global warming, that needs to change.
“Most of these homes were designed for a completely different climate.” says Anna Mavrogianni, a professor at the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy, and Resources at University College London.

(Whereas #TFG didn't even manage to build a Wall."
>It's critical for the nation to find innovative ways to cut carbon emissions caused by urbanisation, the minister said.
>But these innovations cannot progress and scale up unless building developers, facilities managers, infrastructure agencies and customers buy in to the ideas and facilitate them.

Our company was dispatched to secure and hold a utility pole supporting an existing fiber optics line, while another company excavated a 14 ft trench to place new drainage pipes.
(You can get a sense of how big that excavator bucket is in relation to the worker on the left.) #Utilities#Safety#Construction#FiberOptics
Make sure to thank utility workers for all they do, AND drive safe in construction zones. Thanks.
I have no idea who else needs this post, but can I recommend this lovely instrument making film from guys in #Barcelona. (English with that Spanish accent sounds great.) It's very well made, really good editing, clever shots & sound design, full of little surprises and personality. It's also exactly the kind of useless but fun knowledge that my brain loves to hoover up.
One of the worlds biggest construction projects, a massive undersea tunnel, which will revolutionise the northern legs of the European transport network.
Great production values, well made, packed with info but really accessible without any specialist knowledge.
