I'm watching the moon, and I'd be shooting photos, but for the low-hanging fog.
It's still dark so there's no progress I can make on repair work (outstanding since the hurricane of 2022, insurance claim time has run out, the contractors never came.
I've, unwillingly, stepped up to the plate.

I didn't sleep. It's 90 mins to daylight : Can't sleep then.
I watched late news & TV until after 1am, woke at 2am for a pee, & a gas bubble made me puke. (lovely)
When I crawled back in bed, I found our sickly cat, out of her kennel, had pooped in our bedroom.
Two other cats had been quietly fighting under the bed for hours. Teddy was scratching window glass.
I just stayed up, it's brutal.
I've been cleaning poop.
I'm tired!
I'm balancing out now, & I slept 5 hours! It's been awhile since I got past 4, should have tried for 6, eh?
Feels like there should be frost, but it's about 5 degrees. I've been shutting off the heat before bed, and back on when I wake, I find it more comfortable and quieter overnight.
I might go longer next time, the house isn't cold, but there's cool corners.

I was up late, looking at Maps of the USA, in case I want to drive that way some day.

Keep it? Sell it? Shine it?
I'm not sure I'd even like one now. I'm past middle-age crisis, my neighbour recently bought a mustang during his criis. I'd probably trade it for a pickup truck, or a boat.
As I watched the 25th anniversary service yesterday, I remember where I was then:
As a senior Navy member, I was standing Base Chief Duty Watch at (CFB #Halifax ) Stadacona.
A nervous junior officer was with me. I told him to step out for a smoke, I'd be fine without him. I've been standing this watch on & off for 16 years..
I woke early, but I felt rested anyway. I only need 4 hours; no matter when I take them.
I've got to start securing this home, walk the acre, pick up flower pots and garden tools, and put them away.
It's always cleaner when we leave, than when we live here. Our senior cat, who recently passed, is known to get into small places and leave a mess. Each dresser pulled out, to scrub behind.
We still have power and I don't hear anything blowing around, but all I could think of in bed (hoping to sleep longer), I didn't tie the BBQ cover, & some loose stuff I remember now
I still have things torn up from the last windstorm. RLY? So soon? Aw, you shouldn't have 🤓 #NSStorm#Halifax#NovaScotia I'll start tying things down at dawn.

We had some local emergency in the afternoon, and I brought up the emergency scanner page to listen in . And forgot it was set.. and went to bed.. it was a very quiet night.. until 3am.
And now my day has begun.
I got the wood stove started, it was out and getting chilly downstairs , and made my wife and I coffee, but she's not up for hours, so I drank her coffee too. I'm wired!
