Meanwhile in #Paris..... having been subjected to a #bedbug infestation & a #sewage problem in the #Seine, now the #Olympics organisers are picking a fight with Paris' riverside #book stalls that they want to absent themselves from the banks while the opening ceremony as their stock boxes are apparently a security risk...
How this will play out for the Paris mayor & Olympics management remains to be seen
Having already had to 'fess up to a major #bedbug problem across the city, now it seems there is also an urgent need to clear up the #Seine, which is being used as a sewage outflow (such an English problem)...
So, not only are you going to be scratching & itching your way through the #Olympics next year, you're going to be feeling a little ill if you get in the city's river...
Its not a great way to start your marketing to #sports fans, now is it?
And then in the body switches to "of course this isn't backed by any actual statistics"?
> The fact of the matter is that bedbugs are making a comeback, and have been for perhaps 20 or 30 years. But that is not just in France, but everywhere.
Someone reassure me why I shouldn't expect to find #bedbugs underneath a #fridge purchased from a used #appliance store... because my irrational brain is running the gamut on that currently. #AskFedi#BedBug#Anxiety
