Hey friends, here's the second and last clip From yesterday's hike. One of the rare scenes where you see me walking away from the camera. My wife was the camera woman. There were quite some trees broken already and one broke quite close to us. - I admit that I was a bit relieved when we left the forest
Hello fellows!
I'm back from a wee hike to one of the local mountains. We had a great time and I hope that I learn very soon to put on thicker socks now. But I could handle it, was able to enjoy the fresh snow, maybe took some nice shots and got a loooot of fresh air 😊
Today in Labor History November 7, 1918: Kurt Eisner led an uprising that overthrew the Wittelsbach dynasty in Bavaria, during the German Revolution. After the Kiel Mutiny a few days prior, uprising broke out throughout Germany. Within months, the Independent Social Democrats, who were heading the provisional government, were overthrown by the Bavarian Raterepublik, composed of Workers', Soldiers', and Farmers' Councils. Those fighting the socialists included anarchists and anti-authoritarian communists like Erich Mühsam, Gustav Landauer, Ernst Toller and Ret Marut (who became known as the novelist B. Traven after fleeing the counterrevolution and living in exile in Mexico).
Soon, it's this time of the year again...
Last two years I really got into winter hiking. Especially when I accepted the lack of color as an opportunity for a new style: structure, black and white, kind of minimalistic.
And especially in the mountains: motives that probably not too many people easily see them self's.
Starting a new thread of my significant walks and hikes in 2023 (because posting to the thread started with my previous Mastodon account excludes content from my profile). 📓 👇
18.3km hike/walk yesterday (Monday) on "Panoramaweg Ost" in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. The map says 4hrs 15mins for 16.5kms and 178m elevation but we walked a bit more and uphill (280m elevation) in 4:09 active time, 4:55 total time.
This was the last outdoor activity on this Bavarian visit, but there will be more and I can't wait to be back to see friends and family again.
