There's a guitarist named Charlie Hunter. His deal since the 1990s is to play the bass and guitar at the same time on one instrument. Trying to make that work on one instrument is really why we started seeing 7- and 8-string guitars, fan-fret necks and the return of baritones. "I want to be a fraction as cool as Charlie", basically.
