Was going to have an #aperitif in #castellinainchianti, but they don't seem to want my money. Too bad, i'll take my money back to #poggibonsi they seem to like it more.
75ml London dry gin
15ml dry vermouth
1 barspoon of #absinthe
Stirr&Strain and garnish with an olive
If you are after a dry and strong aperitif, but you want to take a break from the umami flavour in favor of a more herbaceous twist, this is for you.
It could be called an "improved Martini", from the old habit of add a barspoon of Maraschino or Absinthe to "improve" any cocktail.
75ml Vodka
7,5ml Martini bianco
7,5ml Fino sherry
7,5ml olive brine
Stirr&Strain in a chilled Martini glass rinsed with #mezcal and garnish with an olive and dried tomato in a stick and some drops of olive oil from a dried tomatoes jar.
If you are into savory and dirty Martini, you'll love this one. The salty taste of the sherry balance the sweetness of Martini Bianco, the brine and the tasty oil are the icing on the cake.
Highly recommended.
I was undecided between Difford's Guide recipe and WM Brown's one (in his book "Martini, perfection in a glass"), and I choose the latter, because is more #Martini like.
The herbaceous hint given by the D.O.M Benedictine really hold everything in this cocktail, I think it is a serious #vespermartini alternative (5+ stars well deserved!)
Tonight's #aperitivo#aperitif is another 5+ stars from Difford's guide "The Dante":
60ml blanco tequila
15ml green Chartreuse
15ml kummel liqueur (or finocchietto)
15ml simple sirup
30ml lime juice
Shake&fineStrain in a chilled coupe and garnish with a basil leaf
Citrus and anise is a match made in heaven, the pepper of the #Tequila is the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.
22,5ml gin Aiteal
22,5ml lemon juice
22,5ml Cointreau
22,5ml Cap Corse grande reserve quinquina blanc
Shake&Strain in a chilled coupe with a generous rinse of absinthe François Guy from Pontarlier, lemon twist (discarded), and sip with utmost satisfaction.
