ok look I know this is really stupid and pedantic, but come on, we’ve had 26 years to learn this

It's Wi-Fi

not Wifi or WiFi or wifi or wi fi

Wi-Fi. Hyphenated. Both words capitalized.

thank you for coming to my ted talk

(while you're here, “log in" is two words when being used as a verb… your login button or link should not say "login”, because the action they take is to "log in”)

kkarhan,

@marcoarment what kind of #WiFi?

802.11(a/b/g/n/ac/ad/ax/...)?

Not.to be confused woth #WWAN like #2G/#3G/#4G/#5G or Non-WiFi-based #BFWA like #WiMax...

Ich übersetze zur Zeit gerne Reparaturanleitungen auf iFixit. Mich würde interessieren: Welche Geräte würdet ihr gerne viel öfter reparieren? Für was fehlen euch Anleitungen? #iFixit #Reparatur #repaircafe #RightToRepair

kkarhan,

The #RUSP (Rotary Un-SmartPhone) kit has arrived! The weekend will be fun! Will I be able to put it all together? Will it work? We shall see! More info: https://skysedge.com/unsmartphones/RUSP/index.html

kkarhan,

@jwildeboer noice...

Personally I was thinking about building some #ChonkyPhone that is even more repairable than the #Fairphone.and.would even allow swapping the #WWAN Modem...

Cuz who doesn't want a brick that could do #Iridium + #LTE and even #PacketRadio / #Pager on #CB & #LoRa...

But that's just an idea on the backburner...

Do you route your internal traffic through your firewall rules and policies?

If not, you are assuming a LOT of things about a LOT of things :)

kkarhan,

@SecurityWriter @datenritter OFC, I do use Certificate & Key based VPNs with only allow-listed users and endpoints to tunnel insecure protocols and access to said systems.

You don't want to know how many @Raspberry_Pi with and modems are mounted on DIN-Rails solely to do and allow ...

Here is how you list all physically installed network cards in #Linux connected to the PCI bus:

sudo hwinfo --short --netcard
sudo lshw -C network -short
sudo inxi -N
sudo lspci | grep -Ei 'eth|network|ethernet|wireless|wifi'

See https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-list-network-interfaces-names-command/ for other examples.

kkarhan,

@nixCraft have you tried it with #WWAN modems and #WiMax cards as well?
