Five years ago, the CEO of Razer, which makes gaming gear, laptops, bags and chairs, said the brand would make a toaster. As part of the campaign to get the product made, several Facebook users got tattoos of Razer toasters. Now, there's no toaster and the company says it will not be regularly updating its community due to inappropriate social media comments, including death threats. Tom's Hardware caught up with nine of the 12 folk who got tattooed to find out how they feel, and if they still believe.
I'm growing to dislike wearing a typical large #GAMER headset. I think what I want is gaming-centric, wireless in-ear monitors, with no mic. Do those exist?
Started putting together a dedicated mic + earbud set.
Got a #Razer Seiren V3 Chroma, because RGB, with an Elgato low-profile mic arm, and Razer's Hammerhead Pro earbuds.
I feel less restricted, but the earbuds of course have shorter battery life and the mic is still active, hurting battery.
I have the original version of this #Razer chair because the lumbar support felt unique and was the most comfortable of the chairs I could find, gaming and otherwise.
Trying to decide whether to keep the #Razer#Huntsman Mini (optical linear) or send it back so I thought I’d do a typing speed test. The results with the Mini (60%) are in blue rectangles. Middle results are with my #Topre#Realforce (tenkeyless).
First two results were likely me getting used to the test environment. The drop off after the second switch is me getting used to the Huntsman’s layout again. Overall, typing speed wise there isn’t a huge difference.
So because I apparently NEED another keyboard, I got a #Razer#Huntsman Mini with the optical linear red switches after touching one in Paris.
(I love my Topre but it can get a bit tiring after a long coding session. Also, I’ve always wanted a 60%)
Anyway, great little #keyboard, crappy proprietary Windows-only software. Used my Windows test machine to map Shift to Hypershift which makes the arrow keys usable.
Then, in #Linux, had to press Fn+menu until the correct profile kicked in.
Hey, if you've had terrible #Razer customer support (or even if not), can you upvote or comment on this thread?
They're a billion dollar company with some of the worst customer support that many of us have ever dealt with. Something needs to change. And we know they watch these threads (they reply sometimes).
